Default Procharger Install with pics

It took awhile before i had all the parts and a lift to borrow for this install, got most of the parts from sponsers here (Bob@EPP, Thunderracing, Dynotune and) and one non sponser.




I got the all the little b.s. stuff before the procharger kit so i decided to throw the gauges on and change the plugs.






Then i got the procharger kit and was waiting for my buddies lift to open up so i changed the fuel pump and fan. For the fuel pump, i cut an access hole and used a walbro. If i had to do it over, id get a racetronix but thats just me.








I got access to a lift this tuesday and started off by pulling the all the intake stuff that i wont use anymore and setting it aside. Then i pulled the front end off in prep for the front mount. I also pulled the pcm and shipped it off next day via ups to EPP to get reflashed, (the box got delayed by ups so it should get there on thurs,not wens like i planned, stuff happens) After that i started to pull the balancer, and thats a job all in itself, i was tired and left for the day.

Default Procharger Install with pics

Today, finally got the pulley off, for anyone doing this go to advanced auto parts and get the puller from there. Also drilled and pinned the crank. In between all that i relocated the horns on the passenger side.


In the process, i broke off part of the pulley

victory at last!




Ill update this as i go, let me know if you see anything messed up.

yeap, im pretty stoked! btw, anyone know the propper torque procedure for an arp crank bolt???

yep, you're going to crank it down to something like 200lbs (do this with the old bolt) and then crank it down to 37lbs or something like that with the new bolt...

First of all, use red loctite on the bolt after cleaning the threads of any oil. Tighten and torque the new crank pulley center bolt to 40 ft/lbs.
Now turn the bolt an additional l2O deg. of rotation (1/3 of a revolution). Bob

ive been working on it everyday and im about to go and try and finish it up but i thought id update the thread.




for putting the belt on, try to get it on as much as you can then get a socket long rachet and turn the balancer , it will walk the belt on








work on it stoped last night around 11 because the fuse box is in the way of the intercooler pipping, from the looks of the pictures ive seen, part of the fuse box needs to be relocated.

it's not all that hard to install when you have some great customer service to call over at EPP.

Looks good ther man- we need a vid when it is up and running.

yeah they have helped me out alot, so have a couple other sponsers on the board (dynotune and speedinc)

got the pipping done, fyi, you have to move part of the fuse box to get the fmic up pipe to fit

Nice pics and a clean install.

I'm not so sure I would be using the TTY specs on an ARP crank bolt. ARP told me 175ft lbs and thats where mine is at unless they changed it somewhere down the road.

sure, i believe its 8 psi (dyno this friday) so im taking it easy on it, it does have a tune from epp but its rich as hell and has trouble idleing when cold. i hit some boost on the way back last night and was impressed, didnt look at the gauge because i didnt know what to expect with the new found power.

anyway, stock internals, stock cam, d1sc, epp fmic kit, 60lb injectors, kooks with cats, gmmg, p&p t/b, vig 3200 stall, transgo shift kit, lower control arms, subframe connectors, panhard rod bar and thats all i can think of off the top of my head.

The boost does make one heck of a power difference! Your install looks very nice! Bob

just got back from the dyno, finall numbers are 413rwhp and 372(off the top of my head) rwtq at 8.5psi with a 12.0 a/f ratio on a clayton (i think) eddy current dyno. numbers arent corrected, its just the raw data. ill post videos of the runs when photobucket decides to start working. i was expecting 450+ but stuff happens and a dyno is just a tool.

it does well pretty quick, cant wait to take it to the track

Glad to see another install completed. I must say though numbers seem quite low to me. Was it a mail order tune? Get a dyno tune and you should be closer to the 500rwhp mark than the 400rwhp mark.

afriad to say it is a dynotune, it did 382 on the first run with the mail order tune i got from epp, then 400 with leaning it out, and finially 413.

im thinking it might just be the stingy dyno + the florida heat and humidity. if i take it to the track and it doesnt mph for crap, then ill be pissed.
