Default STS Help...

Ok I have a T-60 STS, and I have had it for a few months now and I am gettin sick of the clearence issues, I haven't hit anything but I am not happy that the turbo hangs so damn low, I have hear of ppl either removing or hittin the heat sheild of the gas tank to tuck the turbo a few inches into the back of the car...and I am also gonna tuck the intercooler piping and basically any help with clearence issues on sts cars...thanks

i've had the sts turbo for 2 yrs now and never had any clearence issues with the back half of the car where the turbo is. the front is a different story i've bottomed out a few times with the pipe goin to the intake. my understanding is that with a intercooler it would correct this problem cause it's piped a lil different. plan on gettin one down the road and i hope it helps.

front end dive describes it perfectly. it definitly can be tucked up tighter with some custom pieces. go to exotic performance plus they did a sts setup for someone and modified the piece ur talkin about. they also have plenty of pics.

If you make a slight bend in the pipe that goes under the K member, it will be on an upward slope, so the lowest part will be right under the K member.
As far as the turbo, you need to clock the housings right and you will have good clearance.

yeah,no probs with the turbo, a couple of snags on the back piping as it goes from the middle to the side of the car. LOTS of probs with the front but that was with pro-kit which is gone now

my car is lowered with springs and I have a fmic no problems in front but the only thing I didn't like about the sts kit was the piece that loops over the diff. so I got rid of that and made it go under the diff. my turbo sits real nice off the ground and I made a piece when I was puttin the kit on to sit it higher......

Being that my car will be bagged in the near future how well could the rear turbo be tucked up since clearance could be an extreme issue if I lose pressure and drop my rear.
