If money is no object then why not go Ported 90mm FAST.

I guess it is different for everyone. I was pushing 17psi on mine and no problems. I did pick up a victor jr. today though just one less thing to worry about I guess.

Agree, I have ran 18 psi through my FAST with no problems.

FWIW I switched between a FAST 90/90 and the LS6/ported stock throttle body several times and there was no difference either way. Sold it and spent the money on a good set of heads that did make a difference.

But now with bigger heads/cam I'm using sometimes I think of trying the fast again, got to be worth .011 in the 1/4, maybe

75mm throttle body and a ls6 intake works fine for me makes 1162hp at wheels.

The Aussies run a car that does low 8's, at 160+ using a stock LS6 intake and TB too.

I still have the throttle body, may try an LS2 intake if I can find one cheap for grins.

i would say 1 thing that i and everyone knows about the new wilson sheetmetal intake- it looks trick and is pure sex- comes with a nice price tag-

i did recall katech doing back to back test in a n/a form engine against a fast 90/90 and they came up with a zero hp or trq gain- dont know why it did not perform

so by having a guess-the sheetmetal would be good for 4 things- 1- looks

2-big cubes 3-big cubes and turbo or turbo's 4. no 3 and a lot of rpms

i was going to pay the 3 k until i found out katech did not get a gain-

so i kept and i am still using my fast 90-if i was really rich i would just buy the wilson one for looks-but i am not-

i am also suprised since i joined this forum that heaps of threads report people getting big hp+torq+ and good et's out of the ls6 intake

so i am very suprised also that the ls6 performs so well in the fi department-

i was also under the impression that a better intake would gain more or perform better than a standard factory item-not in some cases as i have come'ed to understand-

Since you are forcing the air thru it can compensate for not as good flowing heads and intake. But you should be able to make same power at lower boost level with better heads and intake. There are also other reasons to go with different heads and intake. I like the option of direct port on my fast intake.
There have been sizable dyno gains NA on the dyno section especially from ported fast 90 combos.

maybe its enough to get you into the 8's Kevin. I wonder if trap would improve a bit even though dyno numbers don't make much difference if this 'has' been proven

Maybe, but if I really wanted to get in the 8s a 90.00 pulley is a more of a sure bet than a 1000.00 intake at this point.

I'm not trying to discourage anyone from buying or using one, using one certainly cant hurt and if you have the $$ to spend it looks better than a stocker at least..

n/a results dont always have relevance to FI results though. AFAIK, most FI dyno results say FAST 90 is a waste of money.
