Default Is a Ported 90/90 set-up worth it for FI?????

I've got a Ls2 402 with APS Twin Kit and I have a Ls6 intake with ported TB. But before I put it back on I want to know what kind of gains a 90/90(ported, or non) I can see, to see if its worth the extra LOTS of cash. Thanks Jordan.

Or would a Ls2 be better than a LS6 thanks

LS6 and p/p TB all day. Keep it simple, make BIG power.

The fast intakes leak under high boost too.

Ive got a 408" /w S91 single... running stock LS2 intake /w 90mm TB.

I honestly dont think theres any "worthwhile" gains from a fast 90 over what I have.

Basically unless youve maxed out your turbo setup or something...swapping will likely give you the same hp but *technically* show a hair less boost on the gauge. Basically worthless in my opinion. If you want that extra 10-20hp, you can turn the boost up barely and have the same airflow into the cylinder....so dont waste the money

With your setup, a LS6 will do everything you need.

Alot of people try to say a good flowing intake isn't important in forced induction, I totally disagree with that. I am making big power with a ported Fast and a far amount of boost (18 lbs) with no problems. Run what you want but if you want to make the most power then go with the best flowing intake.

On FI applications, everything I have seen shows that the LS2 is slight better than the LS6 and a little less than the FAST setup. Since the LS2 intake costs a fraction of the FAST one, I went it.

I keep hearing that the FAST is not good for high boost but have yet to see any evidence of this. Has anyone actually had any problems running them or do they just say it is no good because they didn't want to spend the money on them?

It seems past 20psi is where the problems might come in but that is a huge amount of boost in a big v8 engine. As you can see above the guy is running 18psi and making 900 plus rwhp with a ported fast. I have the fast and not going to sell it .I like its set up for direct port nitrous and may port it down the road also.If I didn't have it though I might have went with l92 heads and matching intake on planned 6.0 iron block.

Mine isn't ported but I am planning on running right at 20 psi with it once the car is back together. I've had mine apart when I was painting it and really I don't see a quailty difference between it and a ls6 that could justify it not holding boost. As long as the shell is tightened down real good it doesn't seem likely to me.

I plan on doing a ported vs. non ported Fast 90 to see if there is a difference in FI.

It seems if you can reduce any type of back pressure on the intake side the more boost the motor will see. You might be making 15at the sc/turbo but the engine is only seeing 12psi. You have piping, intercooler, tb, intake all adding to your pressure drop.

But that is my 2 cents, and hopefully my little test will show the gains.

I was thinking of either a EFI carb manifold from gmpp or the lingenfelter you can port both of them and they will hold up to the boost pressure in the plenum.

I went to an LS2/ NW90mm TB combo. FAST 90 can sometimes have sealing problems under high boost so I avoided it.

I pressure tested my intake plumbing at 22 psi when I was trying to track down a boost leak. My Fast 90 mm intake had zero leaks. The TB did have a fair amount of blow by around the throttle blade shaft. I used a small amount of silicone on the rubber gasket between the top and bottom pieces to make sure it stays sealed on my Fast intake. I think that's the key to keep it sealed up under boost.

Run an LS6 for the money, really high boost (usually 20+psi) GENERALLY speaking the FAST's may leak, well hell, any intake for that matter!

If price was no object, what would you guys pick between LS6 w/ ported TB and LS2 w/ ported 90mm TB? I will go Procharger in the future, and I may have the opportunity to pick up an LS2 intake for free.
