Default Stall/Trubo question...

I have a Vig 3600 stall. Would this be to big of a stall for a turbo setup running around 8psi? Thanks!

The stall you have should be just fine,I know it's not a yank converter that you have but checkout the link below...

Yikes, man, is that the 7 pump? If so, I think it'll be way too loose. I had a 0 pump (2800) in mine and it would flash over 5200 rpm when the boost came up. I eventually had to go up to a 10.5" converter to get enough holding power.

that is something I've been wondering about as well, I thought that the turbo likes a load. doesn't a loose converter do just the opposite?

Haven't had the car to the track yet, or really launched it hard, but it has no problem building boost. But it might be a little on the loose side. I'll keep the 3800 for a while.

Yes within reason. Without getting into a long drawn out explanation turbos do seem to work best when a "load" is placed on them. The convertor should not only be matched to the turbo but the camshaft and average RPM as well. For instance you wouldn't want a convertor that allowed you to blow through it when you are trying to come up on full boost. That allows for wasted power that could otherwise be getting to the ground. I have run Precision convertors in every turbo car I have owned whether Buick or Ford and will do so with my LS1 turbo as well. The N2O cars I have had are another story. This is not to say that they don't work on them I just prefer a different route. From what I am seeing it would appear that with 347-c.i., a PT74-PT76, 3.42 gears, 28x10.5 tire, 210/205 camshaft and the weight of my car (3815-lbs. with my big azz in it.) I will be using a 2800-3000 Vigilante with a "zero" pump so that it isn't so sloppy in everyday driving. I realize this is somewhat vague but hope that it helps in some way.
