Default Gen-TT close to 9s......

Just back from a weekend of racing its time to share the results of our strip) meeting with our Gen-TTR LS1 Holden. The positives are that the engine and Gen-TTR Intercooled Twin Turbo System are running superbly, and when the conditions are in our favour, 150mph should be guaranteed without too much fuss

Trying to make the 4L60E electronic four speed go this fast, and run a 9 second card isnt easy though, and takes more setup and practice than us 'twice a year racers' from South Aussie have access to. Knowing that the trans was very finite (from looking at some looking which would show 800rpm - 1000rpm flare on the shifts) I didnt get Gareth to stall the car too hard which resulted in 1.75 odd 60 foot times. Still not to bad to run a 10.1 from a 1.75 60 though

The quickest run of 10.1 was done just as the 4L60E clutches were starting to suffer in the heat of the day at near on 95 degrees air temperature and 996Mbar of air pressure, which in drag racing speak is 'bad air', so no, we certainly were not weather assisted at any stage :diddy:

The good part is that now we have some data on the car and know exactly how it runs in these kind of conditions, which points us in the right direction for some top results next time out. 9 seconds and 150mph through the A4 is the goal, and with some more track time we will certainly have it

Still, fastest and quickest 4 speed auto LS1 in Australia is something to take away from the meet, considering the car runs stuff like a stock LSD, stock heads, stock inlet manifold, and best of all the stock 5.7 alloy block at stock capacity (a cause I have been championing for years!)....and a stock Gen-TTR Intercooled Twin Turbo kit. Nothing exotic, nothing different to the product a customer buys. Its quite scary how powerful these engines really can be with the right kind of boost pumping through them

You just have to set the shift points early and put in more torque managment and let that 60e ride.

The car runs our standard GTO Gen-TTR Intercooled Twin Turbo system. No tricks, nothing changed from what you find here -
http://www.ls1turbo.com.au/us/gto_genttr.html

Its easier to list the modifications than the stock bits.
The only thing differing from a normal GTO 04 model 5.7 engine are -
- JE forged pistons
- Eagle conrods
- Comp 228/230 @ 112 cam
- Comp 918 valve springs

- Boost Gen-TTR @ 12psi

Heads - stock - manifold - stock - compression stock - head bolts - stock - gaskets - stock - pushrods/rockers (and it buzzed to 7800rpm a couple of times) - stock. These engines are good out the box when boosted and tuned correctly

Ed that sounds cool mate, would love some input (as long as it doesnt involve fitting a maggie )
Let us know what suggestions you have and we will discuss them. The main problem we have is that we are located 500 miles from the nearest track, so its hard to get out there and test if you know what I mean

Nahh, you already have enough power, now you just have to harness it, and ride the wave all the way down the 1/4 mile

I'll PM you some suggestions,
Ed

Heres a video guys
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsf0bE3Nxvo
Notice how the A4 transmission has trouble keeping the engine harnessed on the shift into third and lets it bounce the limiter as it flares....this was a slow run

A Rossler 4l60e transbrake would do wonders for your launch. Drop that 1.7x to a 1.3x.

We sure are, decided as a novel little project to run Methanol through the stock LS1 PCM and a set of 160lb/hour injectors with our own driver boxes

Just to clear something up, are you running methanol as a supplement, or as the main fuel?
