Just about to turn the key on F1A LSX 427

I like the "made-for-my-application" ICs because they mount out of the way of everthing and I am pretty sure that Procharger has done some pretty extensive testing on them for this kit. If my IATs are higher than wanted then I'll just mount some small fans on the tops of them.

How mush boost? As much as the 3.90 pulley pushes as of right now. If that gets the numbers at the dyno tune then I'll let ya know. If not then a pulley change will be coming.
Sorry about the latest responses but it seems like alot of folks just love to ridicule and second guess anyone that undertakes any serious builds around here. Heaven forbid I post my cam specs.

i didnt mean that the heads wont be great on your setup. I chose the patriot 5.3's because they were cheap and they do really good on my car. I just figured you would be running a lot of boost with that F1 and would have went with a thicker deck head to run more boost. But all in all its going to be a sick setup. Whens the dyno?

You are right. And I would mount it where exactly? I am keeping AC and have a huge front sway bar. In front of the radiator and/or hacking my front end is out of the question.

You gotta wonder after alot of driving around and heat soaking where those IAT's will end up at....dyno pulls and sustained street driving are two different animals. Bob at EPP has a nice affordable FMIC kit. Check it out.
Nonetheless, your combo, if held in moderation, will be a fun street car with plenty of power.
There are two schools of thought from what I have gathered on this forum.....one is to build a 'race car' and try to say it is a street car and the other is to build 'real' street cars that have factory reliability and engineering with plenty of performance that are not so obnoxious that you couldn't stand to be in it for more than an hour at a time or not feel confident driving it for a 300 mile road trip.
Now don't get me wrong, I like them both and have had them both. As I get older I tend to want to drive them more. The racetrack is cool if that is what your goal is. Not saying you can't have both either, seen some pretty neat 9 second dual players on this site, but they are far and few between. Also, the turbos seem to be more suited to this type of car, but that eqauls more dollars.
Enjoy your car, looks pretty sweet!

Thanks for the comments and the info! The PCM took a crap and a new one is on the way. Then it's off to get alignment because of the Spohn k-member and then to the dyno in 1-2 weeks I am hoping.

It would allmost be worth it to run one of those interceptor gauges that you can monitor pids such as inlet air temp.
You mentioned the 3.90 pulley? We are running that with the shop car and see around 18psi of boost, we spin around 6800ish.
WITH a front mount intercooler we are seeing IAT's around 130ish on the big end of the track, we run racefuel and no meth.

Unedited tuning video
Yeh, I know that it has been awhile. One thing after another it seems. The injector driver took a crap, had a wait to get another one. Comp Cams roller rockers went on, had a wait on the valve cover spacers. One injector was stuck open.....etc., etc.
Anyway, it is finally at the tuning stage!!!
Enjoy.

I agree with the others... ditch the ATI 4.5" Intercoolers.....
If your going to be running the 3.90" pulley then 18 psi and pump gas with those small ATI intercoolers might be trouble for sure.....
I see your argument on $$ about the heads but dont really understand it really.
If $$ was a problem then why did ya spend the $1900 for the LSX block over the $800 for a Reg Iron 6.0L block???
If your only going to push 18 psi it was over kill and your not even using the block for what it was designed for..... Using all the head bolts.
Thats just my .02
Good luck on the project and welcome to the dark side
