Turbo or supercharger what is the best setup you can have for a DD with about 4-6 grand. Dont need a huge amount of psi, just a decent setup that I can enjoy. My car is in my sig

I recommend the combination above. The ATI Procharger D-1SC is a well proven unit that is much easier to install the most turbo systems. Bob

Agreed I sometimes regret not putting a F1 on my car. A turbo car is nicer when all the bugs are gone. But the problem with turbo cars is downtime. A d1 install is a nice weekend install.

You might really like our Magnacharger F-body kit, it has the response and low end torque of a twin turbo, and can be completely installed in 8-10 hrs. Full details can be seen here:
http://www.lmspeed.com/index.asp?Pag...WPROD&ProdID=2

The kit comes with everything you need to install and make 7 PSI right out of the box. Let me know if I can answer any questions,
Ed

supercharger hands down. people seem to have more issues with turbo kits than blowers. id suggest a nice d1sc procharger but im biased.

another alternative would be the STS kit. Simple weekend install, cost is right in your range for base kit. No down time to speak of. has room to grow if you decide later on to turn the boost up. great for daily driving good performance when you step on it.

i ran a procharger on my 4.3L sonoma. I drove it at least 100 miles a day, but a lot of the time it was further than that. I drove the **** out of it. Literally, everywhere i went i was in boost. LOL never had one problem until my fuel pump went out, which was my own fault. I say procharger hands down!

What kind of power gains are you looking at? What is the max power this will make?

Find someone that is going to a F1 and getting rid of their p1sc or d1sc procharger and make it work. If you are wanting to stay wil low boost then a p1sc will do the job if you get it at a good price.

If you are buying new I would only go with a D1 or F1.

I DD my car, but doubt you could get everything you need for your car for $6k or under. I have the APS kit and put 3,000 miles on just last month. I take it to work every day and even took a 7 hour road trip last weekend with another planned next weekend. I am very happy with the set-up and it drives normal if I stay out of the pedal. But if I load it up it pulls like a beast!!! I love that! Instant grin on my face. I have a safe street tune for a worst case of 92 Octane and am getting 17mpg around town and got 24mpg on my roadtrip last weekend. Not bad for this much power! Like I said I am happy with the set-up and the install could be done in under 2 weeks if you have help. I did my install myself with help only 3 nights of the project and it took 2.5 weeks. If I had help it may have been as quick as a week.

There are a bunch of supporting mods that you need or want to run the kit. And those will add up, believe me. I totalled up what I spent this year and let's just say it was a lot higher than I thought or had originally planned for.

Be safe in Iraq man. My cousin is on his 5th tour of the region and is currently home for 2 weeks R&R. Stay safe and thanks for serving.
