curious what kind of boost you guys are seeing on 'stock sized' motors and at what rpm's making what kind of power?

anyone only using this turbo at acceptable stock bottom end boost levels?

i'm playing with the idea of foregoing a big NA build and doing a low budget (all work by me) stock bottom end single turbo IC truck manifold setup, on low boost (7-9psi, yes i have restraint lol). until i build up a decent shortblock then turn it up to 14psi or so.
yes i've been using the search feature and continue to do so.

Stock 93k mile long block in a Silverado SS. Full boost at about 3300-3500 depending on boost level. It comes on fast when you have it a 17psi lol. Truck went 11.8@119mph@5880lbs. So its make roughly 750-800fwhp I would guess, works great.

nice, thats a heavy hitter!
any input on it in a lighter 4th gen at lower boost levels?
i imagine the BB upgrade would lessen spool time by about 4-500rpm or so?

i am getting ready to put one on with a sts kit. i am changing the A/R out to a .81 to help with spool since i am a stock motor for now.

here is a thread on another gto car with that turbo.

.81 should work well with the rear mount, I would stick to the .96 with a front mount though.

you think the BB upgrade would be worth it? and is it a comparable BB upgrade to the Garrett cartridge?

No not at all. A couple hundred rpm is not worth the cost at all.
