Ok now the procharger valve seems to be the winner, Where do you buy them (who has the best deal on them?)

Yes it is indeed! It is more compact than the mondial valve, making it easier to install. Bob

how is that different then a blow off valve, if it vents to the atmosphere?

Somebody already stated it in this thread, but I will say it again.

A blow-off valve is normally closed (not venting) at idle and cruise situations. The only time they open is when they see a boost spike (that's why there are different springs for them-different boost levels). It opens and lets the excess air out so it doesn't compressor surge the turbo, potentially causing damage.

A by-pass valve (or surge valve) is open under vacuum conditions because with a supercharger, it is always spinning at a good rate so it's always moving more air than the engine needs at idle and cruise speeds. Without the proper valve, that air has nowhere to go, so it gets backed up in the tubing and tries exiting the same place it came in-through the compressor. If there is enough air, this can lead to the compressor wheel stopping, which is known as compressor surge. Since the supercharger is directly connected to the engine crankshaft via a belt, this can cause the engine to surge (crank stops turning momentarily), or it can cause serious damage to the supercharger impeller, shafts, gearsets, and bearings.

As many have also found out, trying to use a BOV on a supercharged application can also cause tuning troubles, because of the same issues (can happen with both SD and MAF).

Hope this helps.

Thanks I really appreciate that answer there. I got a pro flow valve and got rid of my Blow off valve. I just do not think that my valve shuts all the way. Is there supposed to be a little gap. Or should it be 100% sealed

The Pro-Flow valve does not seal 100%. Very minimal air is lost around the butterfly, so it won't affect your boost level any.

Dude i just got the bigred one installed and it is a monster!!!! I love it. It sounds like a BOV on roids. Its cool. basicly it sounds like the suercharger has no piping on it.

PS.......... like always EPP has the best pricing... But the BPV came with 2 female compression fittings for the VAC line. If your like everyone else you will need the fittings with the nipple for 1/4inch tube. You might want to ask bob if he sells them with the fittings you need.

I am going to change gears a little bit and ask what type of valve do you use on a turbo car?

They are not compression fittings, they are pushlock fittings. It's best to use those and the included nylon line if at all possible. Much better than your typical vacuum line.

Same one here.....

Like i stated before... made the mistake back when i was running a D1SC setup and ordered a Tial BOV..... air would build up a cruise and it would have a constant chirp at cruise... went with a Vortech Mondo and it was awsome....

With my Turbo setup... i went with the Procharger Race Bypass and it works awsome...

You can here it in this vid....

http://itlxlr8.com/vids/Track%20Vids...rch%202007.mpg

at :10 sec after the whistle of the turbo...... and at :35 after the burnout....
at 1:12 when i spin and let out.....

Ill use it again in what ever build i do.

Kyle
