Default Which BOV/BPV for procharger

I'm trying to decide what BOV/BPV to install when I go with my FMIC... Sound is a factor but it's not the biggest one... I rather have a really reliable one versus one that you can hear a mile away... It's okay if you just vote but I really would like testimonies of your experiences...

I think that I'm going to get that one... It's a little expensive but it flows so much more air...

sevinseriesta: I'm already SD tune and I tune myself so it shouldn't be a problem.. They say price reflects quality and just wanted to make sure the Big Procharger one is worth it... If you look at how many cfm it flows there really is no comparison...

does it matter if you are running speed density, it is to my understanding that it does not matter.

cause if you do a BOV vented to the atmoshphere wouldn't that be better, and since you are SD then I would think that you would not have to worry about anything

They say that with superchargers that you want to go with a bypass instead of a blow off valve... I went ahead and got the procharger cause I eventually gonna go with a 427 LSX block and at least an F1A... It will be plenty for that... Thanks guys for your help..

My Vortech Mondo has served me very well. It also makes great dust clouds at the stoplights.

Just reading here... What are the implications of SD versus MAF applications in regard to the BOV/BPV? Just the location of the device in the tract, right? From what I've read in other posts in this forum, you what the BOV/BPV(in a MAF implementation) to be between the Turbo/SC and the Intercooler to both defeat overheating the Intercooler needlessly with air being discarded and to only discharge un(MAF)metered air. But with SD then, other than the Intercooler aspect, it really doesn't matter where the BOV/BPV is located, right?

That's where I've seen a lot of BPV's placed is in between the blower and intercooler... I know that it really matters with turbos but didn't know that it mattered so much with a supercharger... I'm placing mine where the maf goes... Like I said I'm in SD anyways (don't know if that matters, trying to hear the rule of thumb on this) and it looks more bling that way... =)

On a side note, when you guys go to a FMIC what are you using for a IAT sensor... The one I'm using now is in the plenum and need one I can put in the pipe...

I drilled a hole in my pipe and installed the rubber grommet and then istalled the Iat. I can try to take a picture of it later for you if you would like!

You are correct. A BOV on a Procharger setup sounds like complete ***
I know I had a Tial and hated it. It did its annoying chirp at cruise. The bypass is desgned to vent at cruise and idle and thats what you want. Plus you can use it later down the road with a turbo setup f ya want. If had it for both setup and love it.

Cool, thanks Kyle for your input... I see all of the big boys running the red procharger so I know there's probably a reason... plus like you said I don't want air to go back into the blower because it's not being let out...

Do you have a sound clip of it in action?
