Shake down passes - D1SC 3.8 V6 Firebird (street driven).
Think the last time I posted on LS1 Tech... I'd just broken into the 12s... or something like that. We'll I'm kinda back.
Made three passes Sunday on the new setup just to see if the car would hold together.
Short history:
Last year I chipped three stock pistons when the car went lean on a 100shot (and 10-15psi) - and the short story is, the thing's kinda been sitting since then. Around June this year, I put another motor in it and started working on another ProCharger setup. I'd runout of patience with the P600Bs and had found a steal on a rebuilt D1SC. - Let the fun begin.
After a few hrs on the dyno, Jason of F-Body Central baited me into pushing this thing down the track by offering to loan me a set of 28" Hoosier slicks. (much better than the bald street tires I have on the car.)
The first pass of the day (and time slip I can't find) the car did 12.3 @ 104 with me letting off sometime near the 3rd gear shift. (Because someone decided that putting the Mason Dixon scoreboards at the 1/8th was a good idea... )
And here's the other two passes.
Best pass of the day - 12.343 @ 110.99 w/ a 1.87 60'
Car was trapping at 5000rpms with the 28" tires and 3.23 gear combo ... not happy with that at all - but given the problems I knew I was going to have - I'm still really happy with how the car did on it's first day out. -- Nothing fell off or broke!

Thanks guys ... appreciate the good words! Mark, I think Jason pointed your car out to me at least once, but I can't remember which one it was.
No nitrous on this car - and only 10psi. I'm waiting on a new blower pulley and crank damper with oversized blower drive to show up so we can max the impeller RPM. We also maxed out the factory MAF so I'm waiting for the verdict to come through on which one's the best to swap up to.
I only babied the thing home from the dyno session on Saturday, but when Jason did the street tests, he said it felt like a GN - kinda dogs then BAM! it hits ... First pass down the track that sure surprised me! This thing doesn't feel anything like it did last year.
I'm taking the car to work with me today so I can tinker with it during lunch. It's making a noise from the "converter area" and Jim's pretty sure I broke something in there. We're gonna try to pin point the noise before tearing the transmission out for freshen up.
Again, thanks for the kind words - I'm gonna try to hang out more on LS1Tech to learn more of what the big dogs do in the FI arena... who knows maybe my car will be a big dog some day.

Pathogen, Did you do anything to the bottom end or is it all stock?
Mark98ss, What do you have done to your car? Id like to check it out one day. I am in Frederick also.
Was there an F-body meet at Mason that I missed?

The shortblock was built by Owen at ARD. GM L32 rods, ARP bolts, Diamond 8.4:1 pistons, stock crank, stock block (no oversizing).
The stock shortblock went 12.1 before my greed became it's untimely demise...
(FYI ... this is the same block that went 12.1 - it's my lucky block. )

Jeff pleasure talking to you as well! Shame I can't get paid for just listening to people talk about their cars. -- Can't wait to hear more on yours!
Both um.. Keiths - thanks for the kind words - I know this car's got lots in and I can't wait for more. *evil*
Took the car to work today and found out that the Driverside Y-pipe is hanging by a thread ... not sure when it came loose, but guess that'll need fixing before returning to the track. lol
... Someone in the Baltimore area wantta loan me some 26" tires on rims that'll fit a 4th gen ... for say ... 5 runs or less on Sunday? I'd have them back to you same day! (and yes, I have ground my calipers for Welds!)
*rotf lmao

Jen. Do you work at Fbody central?
Mark, I really cant take my car out yet. I need to find the time to do the BFH mod on it. I just installed some 315's and they are rubbing. The stock tires break loose all the way down the track. Best time so far was a 13.60 @ 109mph spinning at the 1/8th mile!
I gotta get some traction! LOL
