True, considering the F1A is probably taking 75hp or so to drive at 7000rpm, lot of stress on the front of the crank thats for sure. It amazes me how well the stock cranks hold up in these..

I was under the impression you couldn't use the 6.0 crank in certain applications. Someone enlighten me if I'm incorrect.

I know this thread is a month old now...but I'm more afraid of a stock crank letting go of the flywheel on me (and me then losing my feet/legs) than anything else...thats why I got a forged crank for my build. I know that the Gen 3/4 cranks are WAY better than older small block cranks were...but I saw a friend of mine's car (C4 Vette) get totalled to something involving the flywheel and crank (I don't know what let go first, his flywheel or his crank)...but it was enough for me to say I'd go to a forged crank and billet steel flywheel inside an SFI bellhousing on anything I'm going to rev high or make power with.

The early 6.0 in trucks used a crank that was extended in the flywheel area to make the connection to a 4L80E easy, the exception was the Escalade LQ9 that had the same dimensions as a pass car. The extended crank could be used with a turbo 400 or 350, but because it is odd you are better off not to use it.

From my understanding of the rules..... if your going to tack that car and she run's in the 9's... you will need the ultrabell, SFI Flexplate and a shield or blanket.

I have all of them......

No stock Crank anymore either....

okay question bout my LT1 355 build then. reading this makes me feel better about reusing my stock crank for my blower motor rebuild. I have forged rods/pistons,keyed stock hub,arp bolts/studs throughout the motor. i'm looking to make 500rwhp with a T-trim. this is not a track car and don't ever plan to have it be,so would i be fine with a stock crank (1994 z28) with like only 1000 miles with the blower and 30,000 miles all together from stock. also could i use stock main caps with arp studs. since i'm not track racing the car i'm not concerned nor do i have any idea about changing how high the motor rev's.

Also reusing my 4L60E and stock flywheel(do i need a to upgrade to a SFI bell housing?

Thanks

Yes 94Blownz281 , you can make that power easy or a stock long block , why not go for 600 or 700 HP your combo with 12 PSI and a good cam will do it , Is your motor together yet?
did you pick a blower cam, heads?

so if i was concerned about my bottom end letting go i would just need to get different connecting rods and pistons.???????
