Intercooler?

Intercooler?
Ive got an LT1 Z28 and an LS1 T/A, and Im set on turboing one if not both.
I would really like to keep the appearance of both cars as stock appearing as possible. Now, as badass as a FMIC looks, I want a clean look. So my question is, would liquid to air cooler be a good choice to go with? I plan on making around 600 RWHP or less on single turbo probably. I figure I can hide the heat exchanger better than a FMIC. Also about what size liquid to air would be best for 600 RWHP at the max?
Thanx for the help.

You could go with the dual intercooler setup the procharger system uses. I just happen to have a kit for sale too

Here is a pic of how they look installed:

I don't think you should go air to water. I could be wrong but Ive heard there just a big pain in the ***. Go with just a FMIC on the TA and you could just take the fog lights out, you can't even tell.

I also agree, water to air intercoolers get hot in a hurry. We see Ford Cobras and Lighnings lose 50 rwhp after the first dyno pull on our dyno, as the water gets hot. Everyone who had one on our dyno was complaining about them. Bob

You could always go with a FMIC and have it anodized black so it looks like a radiator. Twin sidemounts are nice on a small setup, but it gives you no room to expand in the future.
Most people will not be happy with their first turbo attempt, they get bit by the bug and want more boost and more power.
I would recommend the front mount intercooler.
Let us know what you decide to go with.
Thanks!

i agonized over this same decision when i decided to go FMIC.. i love the nose of the T/A but i cut out the license plate area - removed fog lights and now i wouldnt have it any other way..
stealth is cool but a turbo whistle gives it away . and if they come up from behind while cruising

Run an FMIC parallel to the ground right under the radiator core/ac condensor/etc. Someone could chime in and post up a picture of the Hi-Flo setup to give you an idea.. you can fit a good sized intercooler this way (actually, 4" thick "ebay" cores fit GREAT there), and its discreet, and best of all, cools pretty damn good. Dead simple to mount too, with existing holes in the very sturdy lower core support. I think this is where IC's belong on 80% of turbo f-body street cars.

Wow, thanks for all the input guys. Well, I have no preference either way, but if you guys say air-air for the street, thats the way Ill go, cheaper too, hehe.
I like the looks of that twin sidemount, I think that should be able to support my power goals hopefully. Or maybe that one posted with it mounted parallel to the ground looks nice too. I guess which ever I can find a better deal on. Thanks for the help and pics.
