Default Drove Blownzilla a bit and it was nice

I went up to Alston on Saturday and picked up the Formula.

I had actually not heard it through the new exhaust (Kooks 1.875->2.000 steps, 3.5 collectors; 3.5 oval pipe, 3.5 Flowmaster race low profile mufflers). Car was mean sounding.

I was not able to drive it too far since it was popping a fuse for the fuel pump.

I picked up my air/air front mount from Tony at CAS a little while later, and then dropped off the car with Znines aka Chris of SSRacing... They are going to fab up some stuff for my car, basically a blower bracket that will mount a YS trim, T trim or an S trim to an LS1 F-Body, a custom alternator bracket, custom solid/ adjustable tensioner for the blower, custom air/air intercooler piping and some other stuff. FWIW we are NOT going to mess with the stock radiator location.

PSJ, would you recommend those headers for pretty much any 700+rwhp LS1?

Curious for an upcoming project... tia!

Will you guys be selling a YS monting kit after all is said and done?

I would consider buying one and setting up a water/alky system with it

11:1 static compression, water/alky injection and 110 unleaded

Yeah a custom YS/T/S/G//F1 kit will be the result of this work on my car.

I'm gonna runna 110 unleaded, an air/air front mount and 9:1.

8 rib,
8" crank pulley,
3.12 blower pulley to start but we've got extra blower pulleys lying around like a 2.50 and a 2.95 LOL.

haha cool

If I go back to FI with water/alky and 110 unleaded I'll likely run about 13#'s boost if I can do it safely

cheers,
Chris

DORK!

But yeah, you were right.

Car did not look as hacked as I feel it is sometimes.

Car is louder than I expected and I'm sure the blower will make it wacky loud.

Car could be out very quickly.

I don't have engine pics, the blower is not on yet so there is nothing to look at.

My ground clearance is amazing, the mufflers are higher than my shock mounts on the rearend. I just need some oval 3.5" turndowns.

John, you should put some nice carpet and sound deadening in, and some nice looking Kirkey's.

You sure seem to be doing this right. We have learned a lot from the last couple years of guys trying ot go fast in these LS1's. The big headers and exhaust are going to be key to unleashing the horsepower in the upper RPMs. I feel I have too much restriction with just the MACs and the regular size exhaust.

I'm glad she's shaping up for ya!

PSJ,

How are you getting air to the front mount intercooler? Are you going to open a hole in the front bumper for it? I think a hole opened through the front bumper with plastic panels "sealing" the face of the intercooler to the hole and then a trick screen/grill in front will help your IATs a TON. Have you given thought to getting air to the cooler yet?

Cheers,
Chris
