Kevin, I never figured you'd take the time to get it back up and running before this year is over, way cool! It'll be interesting to see what the 'lil D-1SC can do. Bob

Na I dont make enough power to need fancy stuff like 1/2" studs I dont think they help that much myself. I'm just hoping the LS2 deck is stronger than the LS6 block like everyone claims, if it is I'll be alright. Not planning on going that much quicker and if I get a season out of the GM MLS gaskets thats good enough for me.
I'm going to try to squeak in the 8s with the D1SC since the weather is good. But i need to make a few 1/8 mile break in passes first and make sure nothing falls off, then head over to Rockingham or Darlington before Christmas I hope.

Maybe next weekend, too late to go now, looked like the rain may hold off earlier but it just started pouring

But I did run stock rods a couple years ago, ran 9.70s for a season with them and wiseco pistons, stock pistons wouldnt take the punishment. Whatever scuffed those two 2618 pistons would have shattered the stockers like a throwing a fluorescent bulb in a dumpster
Thats why I showed the a/f ratio in that video, if you put it at a stockish 14.7:1 a/f it has a pretty radical idle, but since I dont like th car killing after a burnout or idling around the pits I leave it around 13:1 a/f when its warm and that smooths the idle up quite a bit.

They are pretty nice rods for the money, nothing wrong with the eagles or whatever but I like to buy race engine parts made in the US if I can.
Most people never post pics of internal stuff unless its new on a bench or exploded lol, The thing went through a lot and I think it held up great. I can admit I probably detonated it hard a few times, but with three different cams, three sets of injectors, two fuel systems, two different sets of heads, two engine management systems, everything from 93 to C-16 through the tank, wearing out six sets of 10,5x28s, bracket racing the thing on 90 degree days, over 300 passes plus burnouts and some street driving you got to expect some detonation and maybe a little wear

I shift the 1-2 at 7100 and 2-3 at 6900, if I shift at 6800 for both it slows up maybe a tenth in the 1/4 if that. With the D1SC @ 13psi and shifting at 6600 it runs 9.50 (my bracket racing setup).

Most of the time you just see shiny new engines or ones that are nuked pretty bad. This was just a good, solid. hard working piece that I beat the crap out of and it still kept going, it looked about what I expected it. I feel I got my money's worth out of it thats for sure..
Very cool KP and that old 346 motor of yours sure was built right and battle tested (to say the least)!
Great post, and best of luck to you on your new motor which should propel you into the 8s!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice info Kevin, I hope you have good luck with this motor as well. Though I think "luck" didn't have much to do with it. You make me feel like a lazy _____! Mines been sitting up on my lift for the last 5 or 6 weeks, untouched!
