turbo on stock bottom end
#2
Forged is always safer!
Stock end can only with stand 5-6psi with a tune, maybe 8psi if your lucky!
Forged can be endless!
Take some time and read the stickies, they will help.

Hmm gonna do the Cam only thing for a little while. Then I am gonna throw one of my turbo setups on it with a nice turbo cam and see what happens.

7psi here with upgraded valve springs/pushrods & fuel system. Rest of the engine is completely stock. 508rwhp with a safe street tune. Engine had 89k on it when the turbo's went on. Just put it in storage with almost 95k. We'll see how long it lasts like this. Hopefully another year or two. Then I will probably rebuild it.

****,that aint nothing,I know a guy that knows a guy who told his buddy, that his buddy ran 25 psi to his stock LS1,,,,,,,,,,,,For about 4 seconds LOL!!!You guys crack me up!!I think this guys looking for SAFE ADVICE LOL!! 5 to 6 ps1 and even then. if you plan on boosting from stop sign to stop sign like I drive your better off just finding a block now and just put money into it here and there, and it will be done when you need it, because EVERYBODY,eventually puts a built bottom end in, if running boost !You dont here to many 100K stock LS1 s running boost LOL!!**** youde be lucky to hit 60K norm/asp without hearing some piston slap ,let alone throwing boost it it TOO!!!LOL!!

Very true point. There are alot of guys who are gonna push the stock short block until it blows. Some will make insane power before it pops. Some wont. Its been proven time and time again that you can run 7-8lbs on the stock engine with a safe tune. Just use common sense when tunning, driving, and building if your overall budget doesnt allow to fix what breaks.
