APS guys: Higher output kits?
The APS kit with the new turbos (shhh not ready yet) will support 1000+rhwp, the rest of the setup will have to be ready to rock!
If you wanted to go with a custom kit, look at some of the site sponsors or find a good local shop to do the work.

Yep they are working on some 65lb turbos that will be a direct replacement for the current 50lbrs. In theory the 65lbr should support 1200+ flywheel!!
These units are still several months away at minimum.

Just curious, but what would make you think 8.5 is too low? I'm planning on running pump gas (94 octane) and ofcourse meth.

If you are building full out dedicated race cars then having over 1000rwhp might and still use the word MIGHT be worthwhile. For the street much over 600rwhp is not going to hook up very well even on et street radials. I have set goals of max 850rwhp with the standard twin aps turbos on my planned 408. I am confident can hit that mark or very close but its more a bragging rights mark..as it represents that magical sounding 1000 engine hp number. That does bring fear to some people.
But realistically don't expect to run much past 600 rwhp most of the time on the street. I may still spray it and that could help me hit maybe even close to 1000rwhp but the spray is mostly just to have the turbos spool up quicker and again for intimidation factor.
I have seen a 1000 engiine hp or so turbo car run at local track. It didn't hook for crap.It was running et streets or slicks forget which now. It was spin city.
But hey maybe I am just getting old and not quite as bad a speed freak or hp freak as was in my younger days.
