Dual widebands necessary with BS3?

I say definately worth it! If you stick a wideband after the Y your reading both banks mixed so if you run lean on one bank and rich on another you won't know. IMO I like the capability to monitor both banks seperatley than getting a rough estimate of the two mixed.

Why not just put the o2 sensor at the center of the x on the x-pipe to get the reading? You will be getting an average reading, but unless you have an injector fail or take readings at each cylinder, it should not make a difference.

A single wideband is usually sufficient for most applications. Just remember to check the plugs to verify the reading, especially lucky #7. With the bs3 you can add fuel or subtract timing per cylinder, EGT would be the best way to get a good tune-up done with but that option is in the works for the bs3.
