i'm in for updates on this beast! i'm seriously in awe after going through this! i wanna thank you again for the info on the aei bracket. i had the same issue with it not pushing the alt out far enough away from the truck manifold flange and it's going back in exchange for what should be the same setup Bob set you up with that pushes the belt out onto the 6 rib portion of the crank pulley.

hoping to have mine FINALLY going to a shop to be tuned in about 3 weeks if i can get the rest of what i need to do finished up but will have him do the wiring, fabbing/welding of brackets and bungs, run the vac lines and some misc while it's there. he's pretty much a 1 stop shop. if i had the skill you guys have it probably would've been done and made it to the power tour. i kick myself for not making it to that

but oh well....as long as it gets done THIS YEAR! lol can't wait to see your times and maybe even new numbers. mind sharing your race weight when you ran the 9.86 on 9psi?

Thanks, and glad we could be a help. The 9.86 pass on 9 psi pass was the only time the car has been run in nice cool 60ish degree air. If i had to guess then, it was probably about 3350 with the driver. The car weighs less now, but hard to remember when everything was taken off. To be honest when the car went 9.86 we were hopping for a mid 10 second pass, and it surprised us. I am hoping the car surprises us again when we get it out soonish hopefully.

Thanks, Chris

very nice! i had that happen last year when i was hoping for a 10.5 after some weight reduction and a gear change from a 4.11 to a 3.70 and ended up getting a 10.41/10.43 and the last pass of the year a 10.37. i was quite pleased myself! lol but then it felt slow again and the turbo build began! lol

looking forward to updates on this and maybe see you guys run some time!

As Chris said, on the 9.8 pass we were hoping to back up an earlier 10.50 pass. At best we were hoping to see a 10.40 since it had cooled off some by then. When I came back around Chris had the biggest smile on his face and asked me what I thought it went, but I had no idea I guessed 10.40 or 10.30. When he told me 9.8 I didn't believe him, until the track guy started yelling at me about saftey gear!

To be honest I heard a lot of people say it was a fluke, or bad timing gear or whatever. The next season when every pass was in the mid 9's with a best of 9.44 (all of those run in high heat) nobody said a word

I am hoping to run some numbers that shock people like that again this year. It is taking longer than expected to get back on the track, but the car will be so much better when it does come out. It will be worth all the time, trust us!

Well its been over a month now, I guess its time for an update. I'll just jump right into pictures, I don't feel like writing a bunch up.

Boost solenoids mounted and plumbed

Electrical panel before any wiring

Panel partially wired, and the new Holley ECU

Fuel system all plumbed

Hood and bumper mount all made up

And now to the good stuff, the complete engine bay!

Detail shot of the driver side

Detail shot of the passenger side

Just a shot of the front I liked

Here is a quick video of the very first start of this year!

Here is a video Chris took after he changed some things in the computer to get it to run a little better

The car is getting very close now, mostly just putting things back together. Should be on the dyno next weekend, then on the track the following weekend. I should be back to updating the thread each weekend now since there will be things worth updating Thanks again for following along!

I think the noids look weird there. Maybe move them down some? Just looks funny having them standing tall out in the open like that

The solenoids don't really bother me there. We put them there last year, and I just reworked the mount this year. It makes for a straight shot (short) to the waste gate where they are.

Thank you for the kind words guys!

Here is a short clip of the car shooting some flames when we had the wires crossed up. After this one it popped again and left my ear ringing for a few minutes!

That was Loud! Atleast it was just a simple crossed wire.

That one was nothing compared to the one after it that I didn't get on video! My ear was a ringing after that one! It was a simple mistake, we normally wouldn't have even made it but we were a little rushed for time. We had planned on having all Friday night and pretty much all of Saturday to get the car ready to start. Turned out that the tuner had to leave at 11am so we needed to get the car ready more or less Friday night. Chris and I are both up about 4:30am, so working all day then driving 2 hours out to the car and working till 2am takes a toll. We did it though, and were up early the next day to wrap up a few small things so it was ready to go. Then stayed working till 11 or so Saturday night.

Hopefully next Friday goes a little smoother and we can plug away at the car and get it 100% without staying up all night so we are rested for the dyno Saturday. That may be wishful thinking, but I'm optimistic!

You have to remain optimistic or else only bad things will occur! Unfortunately anytime things are rushed (especially with race cars) alot can go wrong. Get it done and be sure to double check everything so after its dyno tuned its Flawless!

Thanks for the comments guys. I hope to have dyno video, and track video for you in the next couple of weeks. Now if we could just get a break in these 100 degree days we will be able to enjoy the car

Is it weird that the wiring gives me a boner? Yeah, that has to be weird.
