Thanks! Umm goals.... A lot, and fast I am not sure what Chris and/or Steve want to see out of this combo. I think we want 1000+ at the tires, and mid/low 8's in the 1/4 with the 4 bolt heads.

The car is still around, and just waiting. We are still waiting on the block from Dart. We thought we were in the first batch since it was ordered before it was even released, but apparently not. They are machining the second batch now, and should be shipping them out soon. We SHOULD be one of the first blocks from the second batch. Other than that we do have a little fab work to do still on a bumper/hood support. Chris still needs to decide on, and order injectors as well but we can easily get both of those things accomplished while the motor is going together. Other than that everything else is ready to go, its just collecting dust. I haven't even seen the car in months

I think right now we are hoping that the block is machined and shipped in ~2 weeks (just a guess), and the motor can be together by the end of July or early August. Then we can get it all put back together, tuned, and track ready in another weekend or two. So probably mid to late August before we hit the track.

I have everything crossed hoping it is! We should have it out at least some this year. I think we are tying to have it at Bowling Green, and Indy but probably only for some testing. If anything we should be good to go early for next season

Well, it took a little longer than expected but the block has FINALLY arrived! I wont babble, just move on to pics











That is all for now. It came in this afternoon so all we got accomplished was setting it on the stand and staring at it. They will be taking measurements and starting on machining soon. I am going to try and get as many shots of the process as possible, and will keep the thread up to date. Now that the block is here things should start moving pretty quick!

They got rid of the side bolts for the mains huh? Does that block have a raised cam location? Bear with me as I know nothing about them. Looks sweet tho!

They ditched the side bolt mains to try and help some of the inherent windage issues that the LS blocks encounter. The cam location is standard, as well is the journal size. They can be machined for larger cam cores, and so can the lifter bores.
For a first run block (this one is #27) the quality is far better than expected, I have seen a lot of first run castings that look much worse.

Over the next few days I will be cleaning up some casting flash, checking every threaded hole in the block, and taking measurements of everything before machining.
We are hoping to have this engine 100% complete and back to Chris & Sean by the middle of next month. In hopes that it can make it to BG for the LSX Shootout.
