Chris
Chris just remove the 3/8 bolt in the center and tensioner and you call pull it out from up top. I usually try to keep a few spares!

Thanks Arun..I hope this was the problem..If not next on my list is may be valve float...I need to measure the installed hight of my comp 921s...I would think 135lbs on the seat would be enough since I'm not turbo..But who knows..My boost guage read a peak boost at 6400 at 18psi

well got the sprung tensioner off. When the belt broke it rode on the balancer leaving a little lip on it that made it feel locked. Once I cleaned it up it spun fine..Oh well, I have the old black anodized aluminum one and Chris at ECS is sending me there new updated steel one..

Now the manual tensioner idler feels real sticky and rough. Makes noise when spun by hand. I'm going to replace it for sure. All the other pulleys feel great. Hopefully that was my squeak. I started the motor without the belt and it sounded perfect..So its not a loose cam bolt or AC clutch...All the parts should be here tomorrow. So hopefully a test drive Sat or Sunday to see if its sorted out. I also ordered new wires and the comp cams spring shim kit so I can shim my springs to a little higher seat pressure to see if it might have been valve float as well...

Well guys, Just went for a test drive.. 18psi of boost..I think I need to change my shorts Crazy fast... Still not sure what the problem was. I think it was valve float, not spark related. But I didn't test them 1 at a time. I did all the changes all at once. Shimed the springs to roughly 155lbs on the seat, changed my spark dwell time and new plug wires..Pulls clean(except for a little wheel spin) to 6400rpm and I ran out of road.. Redyno this week...

Haven't ohmed my wires yet, that's next on the list.......
That almost sounds like compressor stall

I think I'm going to take it easy until I fell comfortable with it. Plus my daughter's 1 year birthday party is Sat. My parents are coming from Florida and I have a very long list of things I need to get done around the house before then..I didn't get anything done except car stuff this weekend...

Hmmmmmm so one of those could have been my problem also. I will make both changes and see what I get.

See those 2 welds next to the reluctor wheel...I think(hope ) that is the cause of my high rpm stumble... They are pretty high and right next to the crank pickup...If knocking those down doesn't fix my stumble I'm going to burn the car to the ground...

I doubt its the welds... Does the sensor have marks on it? Call me tommorow, I'll try to help out. BTW, why don't you have studs in there!

This guy Nicky Boy over at Hp tuners had the same problem. Turned out to be a crank sensor. Even a vid of it doing it at 16psi. Here is his threads.

Also thanks to Dave at Canadian Performance Engines for talking to me today. He thinks this could have been the problem as well. If it doesn't work, he wants me to try a crank relearn with a GM TechII and see if that might help as well..
