Weren't the welds there to balance the rotating assembly? so by grinding them off even slightly, will throw the balance off the motor off?

Not enough to matter. + or - 2 or 3 grams back there won't hurt anything..Motor runs nice and smooth...

Yeah, I know..Just one of those stupid weird hair ball things It does it at lower boost levels as well. Even with only a 12psi pulley, so its not boost related...

You would be suprised what I ran into with all my FI builds. Had a similar problem and it was in the tuning. Not the crank trigger. But yet I do have a tech 2.

OK, I hope(pray) I owe Dave at Canadian Performance Engines a 12 pack of beer..I did a crank relearn today with a Tech 2. I only got to go for 1 test drive, but it pulled cleanly to redline in 3rd gear. I will test 4th gear tomorrow..I really hope this was the fix...

cutting out completely, or just struggling to rev ?

In all gears ?

What do the boost/rpm/tps/afr/temperature logs say when this is happening ?

1st and 2nd gear rev so fast you cant feel it, but it does it in 3rd and forth gear. boost/rpm/tps/afr/temperature logs are all normal. I'm going to try to do a snap shot with the Tech II, maybe it can show something that EFI Live doesn't...

FWIW, and perhaps totally unrelated, Im pretty sure my car now revs properly.

I got rid of my Greddy BOV,s and slapped on a Mondo. Shimmed my intake springs, and fitted proper LS1 coils.
Although TBH, I think the fitment of the Mondo ( and coils ) were what solved my problems.

we're going to run it once Normally aspirated with one of the blower tubes off to see if its boost related or not..Might narrow it down some...

haven't had time to work on it yet. I have a plan of action though. we're going to run it once Normally aspirated with one of the blower tubes off(maybe tomorrow), if its still there, wiring issue or computer problem, if its not there, maybe new valve springs, colder plugs, possibly add truck coils ..

I added new Patriot extreme springs and shimmed the intakes to 180lbs of seat pressure. Haven't had a chance to redyno yet though.. Soon I hope..
