Default another rear mount setup qestions

I have always wanted to go to boost and i will never have 10k to spend on a kit. i have been thinking a lot about building my own rear mount kit to try and save some money. this is going to be for a track car with very little street time. project goal is bottom 9's maybe 8's so i wll need 850-900 RWHP

st80 .96 turbo
shortie headers with 2.5 exhuast piping to a T4 flange. header warp from the heaters to the flange.
2.5 intake pipeing up into the car into a air to water cooler
LS2 pistions only carb efi intake
custom cam. not sure on what the specs should be.
3.73 gears
4000 stall on a th350 2step and break
100 shot of nitrous.

questions. this is just going to be a waste of money? for the power and numbers i am looking for is a front mount the only way to go? i figured i would save 3-4 g's by doing a rear mount.

also what size intake piping should i run ?

what are my choices for an pvc system?

thanks
Mike

You can make enough power with a front or rear mount system. There's rear mount cars in the 7s if I recall. It depends on what YOU want to do. If the car is an auto then I don't see much disadvantage to a rear mount.

Just use manifolds. Unless you have a the th350 already, go to a th400. 3.73's will be too much gear unless you plan on 30+" tires. 4000 on the stall will probably be too loose unless it's built by someone like chance.

If you are building a track car why do a rear mount setup? The end cost usually ends up being about the same as a front mounted turbo setup.

i would rather have a front mount but i think the cost would be cheaper for a rear.

i have read that there is a few people running good with the rear mounts but they wont give out how they got there

hey zombie you had a real nice write up on this and give me a good understanding on how this would work.
i already have the th350 in the car now, and i will be running a 315 DR the car is already mini tub and has a 8.50 cert cage.
reason i wanted to do a read mount cuz i thought it would cost a few G's less then a front mount. i have been looking and just the hot parts on some kits are 3k and i would need to upgrade my radiator ect.

I have the long pipe that runs up the driver's side of the car for sale if you're interested... What you're trying to do can be done...but there "could" be better ways
