Default is this possible?

i was in class today and heard these two guys talking about cars. i have seen them both out in the parking lot and one guy drives a riced out v6 mustang and the other guy drives a nice wrx STi.

anyways, they were sitting behind me and i heard the wrx guy say he is going to and a supercharger because he [and i quote] "has seen it done on the internet and hear dit in a forum so it is possible. plus the s/c will power the turbo."

cobra guy's repsonse-"thats pretty cool but my friend has APS TT lt1 camaro but he is going to add the STS kit so it is a QUAD turbo"
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
im sorry, and correct me if i am wrong but i have seen 1 car with quad turbo...the bugatti veyron [and yes, i mean ive seen one IN PERSON]. i know that car has 4 turbos cuz its 2 4.0L v8's mashed together for that great W16.

question:are either of these possible or should i go in and make fun of them next time that class meets??

well, i have heard of guys running turbos SOOOO big that they actually use a top loading s/c to help it spool faster. i've only ever heard of this on SERIOUS race cars tho, and not any serious race cars that break records or win titles. is it possible? yes. will he ever do it, probably not.

well the APS system has two turbos and the STS system for 'maros has one so.....where's the other one coming from? sounds like BS to me.

mm. you are right. i just went to STS cuz i knew they made TT but i guess i never paid attention to F-body kits.

gets me to thinking though...
HYPOTHETICALLY:
if they had a c6 with an APS TT kit, would it be possible to then add 2 more turbo to make this "quad turbo"? and if it is, would this make good power? [i am going out on a limb and saying no one has definite proof of this cuz no one has probably done it so i guess we all have to guess.]

<<<rest of you answer that question instead of the original quad turbo question, as we jsut answered that && answer the s/c + TURBO too>>>

thx SS101

hellion is making a turbo kit that still utilizes the stock supercharger. on a 03-04 cobra

It can be done but is very expensive.

It can be done, but the guys you refer to are clearly idiots.

the hellion kit is almost pointless though cause most twin turbo kits make more power, and you have less headaches, and can then sell off your twin screw.

The quad turbo motor is nuts. I have seen it once before, but its not something your going to see alot of people do. A couple years ago there was supposibly a quad turbo ta, but none were *** mount, i cant find a picture.

What about a tri turbo supra?

I heard of compound boost before (turbo before blower) but a quad turbo system? It is possible to have dual twin sequential turbos but it is not worth the time or money...

Anything is possible but there is a reason why almost nobody is doing it

LOL, 3 pd's and our ls1 cars can run that with a cam only, LOL

I love it! Rice rules, I was there once than I finally saw the light after dumping a bunch into my eclipse GSX turbo car. Selling it and even way much happier getting my bolt on T/A after I sold it.

buddy of mine just bought that kit, from what I have heard its pretty much junk, getting it to run at the boost levels its designed for would cost 3 times as much as the kit cost, and apparently the engineer leaves alot to be desired. I was pretty surprised to hear that though because the halo kit they make is BADASSS

the blowers are just doing the same thing as we do by stroking the motor, its just a positive displacement s/c spooing the turbos. my tuners has a toxk blower + twin 35r turbos. he initially took off the sc but put it back on and the midrange is crazy

They are not popular but there a a handful of twin charged cars out there...

I had an STI, but it's not really worth it to twin charge...if you need to spool a "huge" turbo just spray it...

your friend about the 4x turbo is not smart, that's all im gonna say...
