Almost all the new forced industion cars like new skyline run iridum plugs. So just run tr6ix.Maybe gapped down a bit. You can gap iridium just do it carefully.
APS recommends iridium ngk in my install manual. Tr6 are ok but you will be changing them much more frequently. They say not to run platinum plugs for FI or nitrous.

We use the TR6 plugs, much less expensive and they last a good while if the tune is on. Bob

Tr6 are cheap but still if you have to change them a lot more than iridiums the price equalizes. And who likes changing plugs on the ls1 f bodies? Still annoying and more times you change out plugs in aluminum heads more chance you strip out a hole maybe. And with the money we spend on these cars hardly think a few more bucks for the iridiums means much. But whatever floats your boat. Tr6 are the most commonly used plug in FI and nitrous applications I would think if you took a survey.

Not sure on a LT1 but for an LS1 .025 -.030 is about the norm.

At what point should you go to a colder plug then the TR6?

Not sure if its more than a life term matter or a hp/cylinder pressure. All I can say is that I got me some tr7's for a better peice of mind.

I've been running TR7s gapped at .025" for 3 years now. I change them once a season and put about 8k miles on them each season. 650rwhp. I've ran TR6s also but they knocked a lot earlier. Perhaps it was a bad plug or something but I put TR7s back in and haven't turned back.

Many factory turbo cars run iridiums now. They last much longer than cheap copper plugs .Do you really want to change out plugs often in your car? More chance of stripping plug holes in aluminum heads more times you do it.
You should go with 6ix for reasonable boost levels. The tr55ix are stock heat range.

Buy the TR6, NGK part no 4177 I believe. They are $15 a set and you should be checking/changing plugs on an FI car frequently anyway.

They usually recommend one heat range colder which is 6ix in iridium and realized this is an lt1 car. Plugs are usually insanely hard to change on lt1 cars so would run the 6ix and you should be good for 50,000 miles maybe more. I doubt you will get more than 10,000 miles from the cheap copper plugs.
