Exterior wise, they're both the same but the D1SC headunit flows 200cfm more than the P1SC headunit...

internally, i believe the d1sc impellar is longer which makes it flow more. for $200 more for the d1sc, its well worth it

Is there an upgrade path from the P-1SC to the D-1SC?

Yes, you can send in your P-1SC blower and have it upgraded into a D-1SC, but it cost approx $1,400.00. Bob

The P1SC is legal in every state and the D1SC is not in California or something like that.

I am already starting to max a P1SC out on a stock motor. Buy the upgrade when you buy it the first time. Learn from my mistake. Mine will cost me $1400 down the road when I build a new motor....

I am pushing 5.25# with the stock 6 rib crank pulley and a 3.4" blower pulley. Started making 3# with a 4.10, got 5.1# with a 3.7, and then did a LS6 intake, TR blower cam, and 3.4" pulley, and got 5.25. Did alright powerwise (458/329), so it is flowing well, but I will max the blower rpmwise before I ever see 10# I will bet......

Hm, doesn't look like there's too much work involved in getting the upgrade done and it makes $1400 seem a bit steep.

Ah well, the P1 is good for now

A better option would be to sell the P1SC, and buy a used D1SC. You would probably only pay $500 out of your pocket.

When I order mine, I'll make sure to do it right the first time and buy the D1sc. I know the hp bug will get me and I'll end up maxing out the P1sc, so I'll fork over the extra 200 to save in the long run.

Skip the D1SC and go straight to the F1A

I would like to get a F1A now but it's kind of a hassle to sell my D1SC head unit.

The F-1A has a 5.40/1 step up ratio, where the P-1SC and the D-1SC have a 4.10/1 ratio. A larger pulley for the head unit would have to be made to allow an F-1A to keep the boost down on a stock bottom end. I have one customer who had a 5.50 pulley made for his GTO, which kept his boost at 7 pounds. The GTO kit has a 7.0 crank pulley though, where the LS1 F Body kits have a 7.65 crank pulley. What this means is that on an F Body you would need an even larger blower pulley made to keep the boost down. Bob
