Default Boost controller questions

With a Dual stage boost controller, say a 5-7psi street setting a a 10-15psi track or racing setting, would I need to stop and re-flash the car with the higher psi tune, or will the map pick it up and be able to run the higher psi safely?

u need a 2 or 3 bar to effectly run 5-7 and 10-15psi without any ecu changes

well I dont have a motor in the car yet(doing a swap on a non-lsx car) and I was wondering if I would have to re-flash or if there is a way to just flip the switch for more boost and just go

Yes you tune it for the highest setting and than you can go from either one back and forth on the fly!

Actually I would tune it for for 1 or 2 psi more than the max boost level you plan on running it at, just in case of over boost. Example you plan on 15 --> tune for 16/17. Once it's tuned then you can just flip it back and forth as long as you're fuel system is built to handle 15 psi.

Can't a 2 bar tune be setup for a second boost map (new to tuning so I'm not sure of the actual names)?

Yes and no. If you're putting out 5PSI on the street and 10PSI on the track using a 2-bar SD setup, you can dyno tune the boost curve in the VE table from 0-10PSI. Then you're "covered" at 5PSI on the street as well as the higher MAP levels of 10PSI on the track. It's not a separate mapping, it's tuning the VE table for the highest boost you'll see as well as the boost levels in-between.

I see. Thanks for clearing that up. I've been reading up on 2 bar SD tunes (using the Map senser/MAF delete) and just remember reading that a SD tune can allow you to run different boost settings.
