Default Finally back on wooohooo

Thanks PSJ for getting me new password. Any how my motor finally broke a ringland(number 7 of course.) I guess 570rwhp with my F1 procharger and a cam didn't help at all. The motor ran for one year with the F1 on it, so I guess that is not bad (I thought it would have gernaded long ago.) Now I have a 408cid MTI Iron block on order. I am going to run 15psi of boost with 8:8:1 comp and 91 octane. I have a set of absoulte 2.08/1.60 6.0 heads that I am going to order. What cam do you guys think I should run? I have a T56,12bolt 3:73 and I like to drive the car all the time. I am also going to run Kooks 1-7/8 step 2" headers with 3.5 collector. I was thinking .232/.242 duration and .590/.610 lift on a 114LSA. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jasen, I have the same headers and they are really great. I am running custom 3.5 oval dual exhaust.

All your parts sound good. I have no idea about 15 psi + 8.8:1 + 91 pump gas, but I'm sure you can play with timing etc. and get to a final tune.

Cam sounds interesting, I'm running a 230/237//115 FMS cam for my 348ci.

So how is the fit on those headers? Kooks said with the BMR K-member they will hit?? I already have a 3" Xpipe with bullets so I am just going to use a reducer for now then I will upgrade to 3.5". Do you think with 8:5:1 I can get some more timing out of it and run 15psi on pump gas? That cam looks nice a big. I think my 232duration is small for a 408cid but I don't beleive that you need a huge cam with a blower motor to make big power. I am really intersted in seeing how your setup comes out. In a couple months I will running a FAST system. So any knowledge you can give me would be great

I have a PA K member and BMR upper and lower control arms. No clearance problems there but the passenger side header is very close to the subframe. I'm running poly motor mounts so it should not be too much of a problem but I'll take steps to offset that (torque strap).

8.5:1 might help you run 15 lbs on 91 pump gas, it won't hurt.

Cam-wise, I was told by folks that a blower pushs the power peak up about 500 rpms over N/A. So I think too much cam and it can be a problem but your bigger bore will eat that cam up.

Hey Jasen,

Long time no hear.

Sounds like you may want to be looking into water/alky injection to help suppress knock with 15psi and our lovely 91 octane.

I'd extend the exhaust duration a bit more. You have room with the cubes

Haven't even slapped it on yet.
Pulled off and sold the powerdyne then my company told me they were selling out and I had no more job

But started a new job today so gonna start ordering parts and getting the ATI installed in the near future.

gonna do my own semi custom setup with no intercoolers and water/alky instead.

I might just do that.
You got your stock fans to fit right?
I will probably want to mimick what you did in that regard.

My stock fan would fit if I wasn't running the F1. I don't think it will with it though. Once I drop the new motor in I will check.
