I am biased on this. I have AFR's straight out of the box, with stock rocker arms, and love them. The ETP head's are great as well. I have some friends who run those on a turbo car as well and he like's them. I would say find the best price you can on either set and then make your decision. You will not be disappointed on either set!

AFR is my choice for a good thick head that can handle 20 pounds of boost without having head gasket problems. AFR heads also show up much sooner than ETP heads, which means a lot to us when we are trying to keep our customers happy. Bob

I made 700 with stock LS1 HEADS with a spring upgrade and 14lbs of ATI boost on a 9.5:1 347ci motor.

No need to spend the money on aftermarket heads for a goal of only 700hp.

try the LS1 225cc TFS heads with slight touching up (slight porting on the critical areas).

AFR 225's 72cc, even on a mild 11 psi car.

317's for that power level. If your going to spend the money they the AFR, ETP, and Trick Flow heads are all pretty comparable. I have heard though that ETP heads are pretty hard to get now so id say shoot for the AFR's or Trickflows.

People sometimes think of just peak hp numbers. Area under the curve can be affected by the heads and powerband as well. My car is hardly in boost most of the time. You don't go driving around the city in much boost. I was worried my big afr 225 would hurt bottom end but I have lots ,maybe because its a 408.
And as said as you go up in boost and up the power its nice to have thicker deck heads on there.

Holy old thread Batman!!

Having said that , AFRs or TFS! AFRs have a great track record for delivery, reliability and a quality product. TFS makes nice 6 bolt stuff, where AFR does not. If you plan on going 6 bolt at some point, thats not a bad idea.

Yeah why doesn't afr offer some 6 bolt heads. Seems to be a hole in their product line for sure.

Tony where are the 6 bolts? What about the 235 and 245 heads also? Is it the economy?
