Default Oiling system for big hp applications

What are you guys doing for your big hp engines? I had a ported ls6 oil pump at 682rwhp and when my engine blew, that looked to be the culprit. Now I'm building a 402 LSX shooting for 900rwhp or more and want to make sure this thing will get enough oil. I havn't really seen a lot on here about oiling systems other than upgrading to a ported stock oil pump. Let me know what you use and how it's working for you.

Stock pump here.....Either you were just unlucky, or it wasnt the pump.

What happened the engine ?

Ruf you were running a stock bottom end right? I think that was the culprit.

But yeah the really fast guys on here run dry sumps, and Mike Brown used to run an accumulator for a season or two. I've recently researched running an external wet sump seems like those are popular too... They are belt driven fwiw.

did you try the other spring?

Motor I have has opened up clearances (originally built for dry sump) so I'm not terribly concerned

True, the stock block sure didn't want to hold that kind of power but it had a good tune, enough fuel and no detonation. Even on a stock block, something is the weak link to make it blow. I originally thought a rod bolt let go but a few people that saw the pics I posted said that the crank looked to be over heated most likely from lack of oil.
Either way, with this new build I'm trying to take out all the weak links. I was thinking about going the dry sump route but I'm not sure what's all involved and if it's necessary. I only know how the stock system works so I'm trying to get an idea of what options I have so I can research how they work and decide which I want to go with.

One popular theory is that the rod bolts stretch and that's the reason why stock bottom ends blow up eventually.

A handful of people have said that a wet sump with an external pump is money.
