I wasn't at the track last night, I had a funeral to go to. From what I heard the car was running 9.40 spinning the tires most of the way down the track. Bob
I was hoping to some 8.60/160+mph results today, hard to tell anything with the converter if it was spinning that bad.

Still plan on making BG?

Nope, were sittin that trip out, fuel prices and just not enough time for what it is. BTE says were over powering there converter (full tight on a 10in).

Were thinking a Chance or ATI this time around.

I'm using an 8" ATI and I'm still nowhere near blowing through it yet. Did you switch to a 3.50 or still on the 3.70 gear?

I was wondering if you guys were coming down, if you were I was thinking about going and running in the index class but since the weather took a turn for the worst I'll stay local. I hear you on the fuel prices

I think were going to shake it a bit more before going on a long haul. More hp and more weight Were still a 3.70, might have to swap in a 3.50 if we make more hp.

We changed to a 28x10.5 and did somewhat good for a track known for being not so great for traction.

3.70 gear. Talked to Brent this morning and he said the MPH was around 141 with 15-16% slippage. She was down 4mph in the eight. Pretty disappointing for the work the guys put into this the last week.

No doubt, a lot of changes at once!
I had sent the converter back to BTE to get it restalled. We had bought this converter at the LSX race last Oct from BTE. They just made me pay $175.00 to get it restalled since it had been longer than 90 days!
Brent called BTE yesterday and told them what it was doing, and they basically told him that we were making too much power for the converter, and they rebuilt it to all they could do. BTE said we'd have to buy a new one, and did not offer a price break at all.
I would of gone with an ATI last year if I could of gotten one quick enough, it looks like I'll be going that route after all. Bob

Hey Steve,

I'm the FNG at EPP and Jake showed me a few pics of your car that he took. He's busy working on a car so I'll post them up for ya.

Bob,

Saying he has a great camera to take pics is like telling an artist his brush does great work. A camera is just a tool, it's the operator behind it that makes it happen.

With that being said, the camera is awesome and Jake got lucky! I'm just kiddin, Jake!

EDIT: Steve, you going to be at SNS 08?

ATI usually gets a new one out in one day, you are just too impatient

I'm not saying ATI is the best in the universe, but I have flogged this thing for over three years now and it was as close as you could get stall-wise. But there is quite a few companies that make good converters, just have to throw a dart sometimes

I put the 3.9 pulley on and was going to run it today, towed 120 miles one way to watch it rain, weather said zero percent chance of rain and mostly sunny. 100.00 in diesel right out the window

Ouch!

What crank pulley do you run with that sdce?

Were around 73,900 @ 7k with a 3.90 and a ATI pulley, only 17 or so psi.

After swapping cams we appear to drop 2 or so psi depending on how good the air is.

We were having computer issues as well so data was limited.

Just be glad it was 120 miles and not 500, with diesel around 4.00-4.50 it is a hurtin for everyone who tows these days.
