Yachelou, do you have anything in the car to keep track of this stuff (data logging, etc)? I will tell you the best mod I ever did was getting HP Tuners, and learning some the tuning stuff. Tuning a turbo car takes patience and time...and if you end up changing anything on the car, you have to keep paying a tuner to do it. Might as well get the software, and learn how to do it.
i was a actually considering doin that. if i am gonna spend the money to do a tune, i might as well buy hp tuners and learn how to do it again. thanks alot for all ur guys help.

If you can't afford an intercooler at this time, just keep the boost low (5-6 psi) and watch the IATs. Scanner software is very important when making this mod; it keeps you aware of most issues. When monitoring IATs, remember that they are relative to ambient temperature. So, at 100 degrees ambient, 120 is not bad at all. However, at 50 degrees ambient, 120 is risking detonation and would certainly cause the PCM to pull timing.

I believe the tuning software suites for the LS1s also scan. I have an LT1, so I have to a separate package. I use Autotap, which I do not recommend. IATs are a PCM input message, so they are available on the OBDII connector as a standard bus message.

Yes HP Tuners logs IAT's. I don't know how much a gauge would be, but if you already have a laptop it would make more sense to just get the software package.

I have to look at mine, but just off memory (since I'm too lazy to walk to garage right now) the line runs to some sort of boost reference. I have the line T'd next to the brake booster, and I'm pretty sure it runs to the BOV. I'll try to double check tonight.

The one on top of the waste gate is usually not connected unless using a boost controller. The one on the BOV should be connected to manifold pressure, I would think it is not AS critical with an automatic. But, anytime you are on the throttle and let off the turbo is still spinning and you shut the butterfly on the TB this causes compressor surge. So I would Tee it into a vacuum line off the TB. If its there you might as well use it.

I am also selling a set of 42# injectors that I used for a year for $230 shipped. I've got pics in my forsale thread.

You need to T in into the brake booster vacumm line. I bought a vacum block and ran all mine like that alot cleaner and I don't have lines cracking and breaking all the time on me now.

Take your pick. Mine's t-eed into the throttle body. Don't think it really matters which one you use.
