101mmTB worth it if you're bottle necked by IC?
i have an opportunity to pick up a wilson 101mm TB for super cheap. But is it worth it over my current NW90MM TB if i'm bottle necked by my IC? i "think" the outlet on the IC is only 4inches?? i'd have to pull it out of the box and measure. its a standard OBX IC off ebay iirc. If I were to go w/ the 101mm i'd have to dish out some extra money for an elbow to fit it. Just wanted to get some opinions.

The biggest those intercoolers go is 3" You wouldn't benifit from the bigger throttle body. Me on the other hand, I'm running 4" and I'm looking for a bigger throttle body. Want to make a couple bucks by picking it up at the cheap price you speak of and tack on a few dollars and sell it to me?

Those intercoolers actually arn't that bad, just because they are cheap doesn't mean they don't work. They have been proven to do quite well in high hp applications.
I agree though that there is no need for him to waste money on the tb unless everything else in his system can flow the same or more as the tb.

well the deal for me is to sell my NW90mm and whatever i can get for it, i'd give to the my friend and he'd let me keep the 101mm.
but you guys are right, if i'm bottlenecked by the IC i'll keep the 90mm

F.I. doesnt require the "big" components like the N/A or nitrous stuff does. THe air is going to get there either way. It has lots of help. Fastest 10.5 car in the world has a 90mm t body and is making 3000hp and runs 6.50's @ 232 @ 3000lbs. Does that make your decision a little easier?

Not to mention that the stock t-body will probably support 1700+hp also. I plan to start out using my stocker with my 101mm setup but i may end up with a 90mm before its all over with.
You still staying with a stock style intake MM?
