With a big motor like that the ST80 makes big power, but the TC78 would spool much quicker then it and still make great power, but not the level of the ST80.

What's the shipping weight of TC78? Is it water-cooled?

Correct its not water cooled unless you want the option for it. Also the unit is around 21lbs.

21lbs, are you sure? 2.5times lighter than ST80???
I'm not used to non-watercooled turbos, don't they last a lot less without water cooling?
How much $$$ extra for water?

Sorry if this is stupid Q... But how can it be - ST80 = 50lbs, TC78 = 21lbs... Power rating is not so very different...

You see the two next to each other and you will understand lol. I will see if I can dig up a pic I took.

Also even though the power rating is the same does not make the tc the better choice for every combo. The TC will fall of a lot sooner especially on bigger motors with high back pressure before the turbine housing. .

Correct you can have 10 turbos rated at the same power, but will make all different #'s on a certain setup. All turbos should come with a HP rating and a * beside the rating showing at what PR and cubic inches that would be matched at.Also ST units are actually about 41lbs, the S series is around 50.

I want one. I called & left my phone #. Your web site doesn't show this intro price so I didn't order it on line.

OK, I'll just go mad choosing between TC78 (price, spool, easier to fit) and ST80 (a bit higher power)

Well the choice should be broken down to this. What duty will the car mainly see street/strip or mainly strip??????

Street/strip=TC76 or TC78 for the quicker spool, lightweight, compact package

Strip= ST80, higher power, slower spool doesn't matter as much if you have a 2 step/ transbrake etc....larger turbo might need some cutting and welding for placement in the engine bay or some sort of relocation, but usually not a biggie on a drag car.

Are these starting to ship? I spoke to someone at forcedinductions.com on the phone about my order, and they thought these were shipping but there were no details. Any chance of getting a tracking number?
