first pass new combo
ive never learned how to read plugs so mainly i would like some feedback on them. my faithful 7173's see attached.
so the car feels faster than last year, this pass was an avg psi of about 13. through the cat back (cut out stopped working QTP! grr)
i figured i would have to put it at about 15 to squeeze a 9.x, rain cancelled the rest of the day.
please see proper heating of the little mt's Thanks to FEARSOM for the vid.

Hard to really see the plugs, but it looks a little on the lean side for a turbo.
Nice run though, way to run em down .
You have a post about your new setup and whats different then last year?
Edit: Are those plugs directly after a WOT run, or was it idleing/part throttle driving to?

Compared to my plugs, those look new. My car is running too rich right now, so that makes them look bad after about 5-6 tripps out. I do buy them 4 set at a time. Should be fixing all that soon. Nice pass by the way. You make it look easy.

David, you need to get a lighted magnifying glass and look down inside the plug to read it properly to see the fuel ring and where it is at. If those are plugs you drove to the track with you cant read them anyway. Put a fresh set in and make a pass, that will tell you where its at.

thanks guys.
we had a local dyno night tonight, I ran it up to 21# and it made 89X something rwhp SAE, will post the sheet later.
these are my first numbers through the 4l80e (unlocked)
im very pleased with the numbers, i figured it would be around 900rw at 23# so 890 at 21# means the new heads are an improvement in flow as well as strength.
i figure i'd lose about 100 through the unlocked auto vs my old 6 speed 995rw numbers
i didnt get any back talk from the cooling system either, real happy about that and hope the trend continues

Way to go Dave. The new 6 bolt heads seem to be doing great!
You said you ran it through the catback. Which catback do you have?
What size DP are you running and what size cutout?

i have a stainless works 3.5" system.. extremely nice!
my exhaust is 3.5" dp all the way back until it splits to the dual 3" tailpipes
the cut out is 3.5 but the opening is really more like 3" from where they did a crappy job making it.
