Default 3 bar map and single plane

Where are you guys hooking up the map on the gmpp intakes? Does it have to go the intake or will a hose coming off the back of the elbow to the map work? Any pics?

A hose coming out the back of the elbow should work fine.

I put a small tiewrap on each end of the hose to the MAP to keep it from being able to pop off its nipple. I'm only running ~12.5#, but it's been fine so far. You just have to cut the tiewrap to be able to remove the hose.

It would be nice to switch to -4 SS braided line for security, but no MAP sensor I've seen has anything but a plastic nipple.

Yeah I was going to try the zip tie thing. How long is your attaching hose? Where is the map mounted?

I have never been a fan of plastic MAP sensors but cant say I have ever had an issue either. I like the SSI Map sensor that came with my AMS1000 and thought about ordering another for datalogging manifold pressure and for use on my MSD box. Just dont know if its compatible with the ignition box. Pricey but you would never have to worry about a hose coming off as you can just screw it directly into a hole tapped for 1/8" NPT.

I just ordered a GM 3 bar and a conversion harness from Speed Inc. So I will try the plastic map. I already have a few brass barbs on the back of the elbow, just not sure where to mount the sensor.

My attaching hose to the MAP is only 4" long, and is mounted above one fuel rail via one of the mounting bolts on my 4BBL throttle.

I've even had a couple backfires early in the tuning process, and they didn't blow off the tie-wrapped hose. It's pretty secure.

Well I just thumbed through the new GM High Tech, aka "The Bible" and in the feature of Turley's car, you can see his Map come off the elbow with a short hose, then mounted on the cowl. He is pushing 28+ psi, so I should be OK.
