Default First time FI, have a question

I'm getting a A&A corvettes supercharger setup, and with his kits he uses Vortech head units. I'm going to get a self contained T-trim to meet my goals.

My question is, he give's the option to use a Procharger head unit and if I go that route I'll use a D1SC, but is it neccesary? Is the D1SC a better choice
over the new self contained Vortech T-trim? There's pro's and con's to both. He tells me the Vortech has a better bracket to prevent slipping but I'm going with a 8 rib anyway. The Vortech supports up to 825hp, 26PSI, and 1200CFM. which to me is enough for now.

I'm just wanting the opinion of you FI guys on Vortech's head units and Procharger, specifically between the T-trim and D1SC. Both are self contained and support around the same HP. Is it worth the extra $1000 to use the D1SC?

Just looking for some advice, like I said this is my first FI car.

Link to A&A kit I'm using.

Thanks,
Jon

I think the T-trim flows 1200 cfm and the D1SC 1450cfm so the ATI should support a little more HP.

I don't believe it's worth an extra thousand if those are your realistic goals. Plenty of other things to spend it on, eh?

i highly doubt you can push those centri superchargers to 26lbs of boost... its not a 4.6 mustang motor.... your probably going to be limited to at 20lbs at most!!! with your cubes

I like the A&A kit alot, that is why I'm going that route. But there is something in the back of my mind that keeps telling me to get a procharger. I like the power range of the D1SC. If I ever go with a forged bottom end I can turn up the boost without having to purchase another head unit and still make great power. With the T-trim I'm limited and have to trade in the head unit for something bigger + cash to get where I want. Right now I'm on a stock bottom end, so the T-trim will be more then enough. I'm just thinking for the future.

I want to be happy with my purchase 2 years down the road, and not wish I went with a procharger. My question is for you guys that have been around for a while in the FI world. How does Vortech stack up against Procharger in quality, reliability, customer service, and power?

Thanks,
Jon

ask jeff (Inspector12) he had a vortech kit on his orange car before the twins, and he has the F1 on the black SS, i like them both but if its a matter of a grand, save it and buy something extra.

I'm going with the T-trim. It'll be more then enough for me right now. It can support 750rwhp when i choose to go forged.
