ohh and wow the flanges are thin

everysingle person who has actually seen the kits in person says how nice the pipes are and how nice and thick the flanges are are

everything in your post was pretty much wrong.. dont bash products until you have physically seen them.

i will agree the turbo is garbage but the pipes are not..

I have one of the kits, came in a couple weeks ago. I've been acquiring the rest of the parts to finish my setup. I must agree, as have all who have seen the kit. The welds, flange thickness, and the fact that even the ports are cleaned up a bit were all pleasant surprises. I intend on selling the turbo, and I'm not even using the downpipe (too small for my turbo). I intend on building a support bracket to help hold the turbo up, to reduce the chance of cracking. Also ordered the large intercooler from justintercoolers off of ebay and was pleased with the product as well. welds look good, ends are even nicely polished. If I have to do some drilling to the bolts holes on the headers, so be it...should be interesting.

Presto,

I just got my kits, looks great!

Flanges are VERY thick, and welds look nice.

Did you receive only 2 boxes? I got all the piping and turbo, but the Intercooler is missing =(. Did you get 3 boxes with your kit?

I need to contact the guy and find out where it is.

I was wiggeling the intake side of the turbo and it had side to side play in it. I am just going to buy a quality turbo from one of our sponsers.

Question is, can this turbo be fixed?

There will be some play until the center section is pressurized with oil, the "slack" will then be taken up. Normal. I wouldn't expect that turbo to last though.

Looks nice......looks.

frcefed98, when the turbo fails, can it cause any damage to the motor?

If Yes, i do not even want to take a chance using it. What do you think?

Found someone selling the same turbo on ebay for 300 bucks.

Frcefed98 would it be against the rules to post an ebay link to the turbo?

Hope it works out for you guys, did the kit come with Vband clamps? Mine for the mustang didnt, and I had to grind the flanges that fit for the crossover.

The welds look good, so did mine, after a little bit of heat through them though, and you will see the true nature of how well the welds really hold.

So did you end up ditching the kit or were you able to get the welds fixed?

luckly found someone who was able to weld stainless, he said that overall the welds looked good, but were weak overall. He said if broke again in close to the same place, he would ditch the kit, it wouldn't be worth the repair.

There is a good chance that if the turbo goes it could shoot parts in to the motor.

Yes posting ebay links to items that our sponsors sell i.e. turbochargers or turbo kits is against the rules.

If you have an intercooler in between the TB and the turbo i'd think the IC would catch most of the debris.....but you never know.....I wouldn't chance it....well maybe on my beater honda civic, but not my Formula.

A TC76 is under 1k from FI.com and will put down some serious power. It also has a 1yr unconditional warranty from turbonetics.
