I would get atleast an ST80 from Forced Inductions and both fmic/meth. You might need to run a larger diameter charge tube from the turbo to the front of the car also.

I guess technically you don't *need* anything else to make it work with a 408....It would bolt up just the same, and boost just the same (well, it would probably boost faster lol).....But.

Whatever turbo you have with the kit is most likely too small. I'd upgrade to a 76mm at the least, and with a 408 you could look at something like an 88 for big power. a FMIC isn't necessarily needed, because your cold side piping is 10 feet long, so it helps disipate heat as well, but I would run methanol injection. I've got a kit from AIS (a sponsor here on the board) and their customer service is awesome, especially with someone who's gonna have questions....

where depends on how much rwhp you want, that 67mm will max out at 15 psi, which you probaly dont wanna run it at max if its an sts garrett turbo according to sts and the piping is good up to 900ish rwhp again according to sts....a 76 will net good power but if you go any higher you gonna have to change your flange in the rear and piping, trt has a good fmic, meth a good insurance on cooling your iat's,depends on how much hp your probaly gonna have to upgrade ur fuel pump to two, upgrade injectors to 60's most likely.......etc.......etc

upgrade to a bigger turbo 76 or 80 get a FMIC, it is a must your IAT will be well above 130-150 on 1/4 mile run. get bigger diameter charge pipe to feed the air to the 408. other than that its all good.

True that the long piping does disipate a good bit of heat but there is nothing wrong with the added insurance, better safe than sorry, BUT, by running the FMIC, you will tend to lose a couple of psi due to the turbulence and disruption of airflow going through the cooler and all the piping.

the FMIC is a must , your air charge will not cool down with the 10 feet of piping, I know i have run the kit for 3 years. reference your waste gate to the manifold and you will see the boost reading after the intercooler and you can adjust it as the engine is seeing it.

A good IC will only loose .5 to 1 psi and you can compensate for that. I referenced my mbc to the compresor housing and my gauge to the intake, that way I control how much boost the actual engines sees no matter how much the turbo is putting out.
