700 Rwhp??
700 Rwhp?? I am trying to figure out everything that I will need to reach 700 rwhp and i have a few questions on how to get there. I have a D1SC head unit with the 8 rib sdce setup. I am getting ready to start to build my 346 to a 347 forged motor. Here are the things that I need help with
At this horsepower goal will I push water with ls6 heads and is this a bad thing(new to forced induction).
what compresion ratio should I run
I am planning on running a 04 z06 cam, will this cam get me to my goals or should i go bigger
last, what would I need to do for fuel setup. I have read the setup with the twin in tank pumps but i didnt understand what was used to activate the second pump. I am guessing there is a controller that when it senses boost it turns it on?
Any help you can give will be extremly appreciated

You shouldnt push water with good gaskets, head bolts, and a good tune so at 700 rwhp you should be ok, and pushing water is not a good thing as it usually signifies a blown head gasket or the fact that your detonating and lifting the heads, which is bad. As for compression ration id aim for around 9.0:1. The z06 cam is a good FI cam but you could certainly go bigger to gain some extra power, it just depends on if you mind having a slightly choppy idle which comes with a larger cam. With a small cam though its going to take more boost to hit your goal. As for a fuel setup the dual walboros should work as plenty of people are running that setup. Not sure on the switch though. A full forged 347 with a d1sc is certainly capable of hitting the numbers you want so goodluck with the build and keep us updated!

I am guessing there is a controller that when it senses boost it turns it on? You can run both pumps all the time. We have been doing it for years without any problems. This eliminates potential problems that can be created if the second pump does not turn on. I strongly suggest a fuel pressure gauge be installed so that fuel pressure can be monitored.

I am not sure personally I run a double walbro, but I have it set on a hobbs switch. Do you guys do anything different for the heat issues with the fuel pump
You will need a full fuel system for this power level as well. The dual pumps along with 60# injectors, upgraded rails, front mount boost referenced regulator, return line. I am about at the max of dual pumps and 60# injectors with nothing else and thats 670 rwhp with TT.

We have not seen a problem with heat with both pumps being run, if there was a problem it would show up after an extended trip when you go to restart the car. Possibly others have had problems that we just haven't run into.
We have seen what happens though when a hobbs switch fails. lol Bob
i drove home 300 miles from EPP and had no issues....

Well i guess i can start ordering parts, i see that you used a gt2-3 cam on the vette should i use this cam too? I like the sound of a lope with supercharger whine for sure!

That sounds great, how is the drivability? I have a tourqer 3 right now and im not looking for something that would be compared to it, so if that cam is more streetable then it may just be the cam for me!!
