no new pictures yet but pill post them soon.
intake is done, exhaust is on, driveshaft is in, crank pulley is seated, hot wire kit is installed, casper volt blaster is installed, water pump is on, alternater is on ,oil system is primed, and plugs are in.
it was real nice seeing 40 plus psi of oil after three 5 second bursts with the starter. as much as i seem to get done it seems as im still so far away. and im going on double shifts soon so im trying to get this thing of the jackstands at least. ill post pics as soon as i can.

VERY NICE!!! This is the exact thing I myself will be going through in a few months. Thanks for all the good pics and well put together posts! Good Luck on the rest of the build and I hope you get the results you're gunning for! What bracket are you using for the head unit?

the bracket is the standard procharger one shown in the pics.
i had the block assembled of coarse but the assembly really isnt that bad. other than putting the hood on ive been 100% solo on the work. this is my first time doing anything this drastic and involed on a car. its the little things that eat in to your time. like fishing the hot wire kit to the top of the tank, taking the tranny back out just to verify i didnt force the pilot bearing in., trying to run cabling neatly and not to get burned without re inventing the wheel and triple checking torque readings on bolts.
i was so board waiting on my motor i painted some parts which now i wish i didnt. it takes so much longer to install parts while you try not to scratch them.
i also forsee a long time trying to fit a larger air filter in above the twins but ill cross that bridge when i get there........off to install the head unit!!!!!

some more pics/and update:
well. i have the headunit mounted and am trial fitting a larger air filter. what ive come up with is you have to loose the ati relocation bracket for the cruise control and air pump. no biggie, i mounted the cruise control to the frame rail by drilling and tapping. it fit but i felt it was to close to the intercooler so now im working on plan "b". i cut the back mounting piece off the ati bracket and am going to use a L bracket to support the cruise control. ill post pics when done.

more pics.
cruise bracket has been mocked and fits. i just need to paint now.
large air filter has been mocked and its tight but it fits. it pushes out the side of the nose maybe a 1/4" but ill trim the ati hose a little to try to get some outward force off of it. you can see what and how ive routed it in the pics. ill play with the angle a little just to see if i can get a better fit with the filter.
as soon as the paint dries on the cruise bracket its radiator time and then ic plumbing!!
this is for the search feature.... larger air filter ati air filter procharger air filter bigger air filter d1sc air filter lol!!!!!!!

sorry for the delay. busy work week.
heres some updated shots.
the middle air filter is the one i decided to ultimately go with. its a kn rc-4760
it fits perfect, doesnt push on the nose side or into anything above it. and it nessles nice and snug above the ic pipe.
its 8" long 4.5" wide at top and 5.5 wide at the bottom. the 0920 is
9" long 4.6" wide at the top 6 wide at the bottom
so you can see its not really that much smaller.
as the car sits now its ready to start. ill drop mike at new era a call monday mourning to see if we can arange a start up tune. if the weather is good tommorow ill put the interior back together and give it a much needed wash.
ill post a couple of shots tommorow of the completed engine bay for now(over the winter i want to get some stuff powder coated and get some fuel rail covers on). i do have to clearence my fiberglass hood in two spots where the hard piping just touches it but nothing a dremel and a couple of cutoff wheels wont fix.
id like to give a big thanks out to all you ls1 techies and 5 sponsors in particular: props to lme for working with me on a frankinstein engine build
new era performance for going out of their way for customer satisfaction
epp for a wealth of knowledge and excellent service
revextreme for answering my ?'s and going out of their way to get my products to me in a big hurry.
any time ive been stuck or needed alittle insight this site has been here for me, its the best service manual one could ever have. after tomorows photos ill start another thread in regards to it running and dyno tune. hopefully all goes well. wish me luck!
