Damn Dom, even after talking on hpj a month or so ago with you about your setup, I'm still amazed and can't wait to see the results. It's too bad I moved out of state or I'd like to see this thing in person.

Are you still going to be shooting for the same goals we had talked about in pms concerning the six speed before you go auto?

Yeah, same goals. Basically enjoy it for awhile before I go changing anything up.

My motor (left) and the motor for our Trailblazer SS arrived the other day via Kurts Silverado SS:



The TBSS motor is a 427 LSX. The truck will be in memphis participating in the truck class.

For my car: 408ci Iron block, filled and O ringed. Assembled By Mr. Urban.





Waiting on a few parts, but we should be ready to bang it out in Memphis on the street. Might make some test n tune passes as well. We shall see. Wont have a whole lot of time to iron out the car from a dig before memphis, so Ill have to stick with the roll ons for the moment. Either way, I cannot wait to hear this bitch spool.

Have some head gaskets ready! I suppose you will be pushing water around the 1200hp mark on your 6ltr. iron block. Nice motors none the less!

My car is not legal to run as fast it can go yet. You shouldn't actually blow the gaskets, but lift the head's, at that point your water temp will rise.
Nothing you don't already know though.LOL

So why in the hell is the LSX block not going in the Camaro, and the 6.0L iron block not going in the Trailblazer????????????????

If you're going 106 and an auto later, you'd better have that LSX in there to even make it worth while.

Both those builds seem like they're gonna be awesome. Good luck!

That exact block has been 6.8@205 through the quarter as a twin turbo 355. I dont anticipate any strength problems

But anything can happen.

I was thinking more along the lines of the heads lifting. And Casper was a much lighter car.....was it not?

Exactly what I was thinking... I am running a PT88 with a TH400 and it spools ok... but a 98 on a T56? Wow... looking forward to seeing the results!

Oh and what dish are those pistons?? They dont look very deep... you plan on sticking to race gas?

OH, Gotcha. I have actually only ran once on the street with my PG tranny, and it was a smoke fest from 40 to 140mph. It is not out of the question though.

Yours is also rear mounted. It would be interesting to do a direct engine comparison where the only change would be turbo location and determine the spool time.

What does casper being lighter have to do with anything? You were talking about block strength, not how fast the car was going to go.

The block is utilizing half inch studs to help, but like I said before I wont be surprised if it does push a bit of water.

As I also said before, this isnt something I dont already know.

Dunn: yes it is a custom fabbed kit.

HUNTER: Just let me know, Im always down for a bit of fun either way.
