TC78 Goes on Mustang dyno today!!!

I guess we will find out if dyno numbers really mean anything. I spoke to my tuner and he said it was making 525hp by 5k but it was flat lining after that.
He suspects its blowing right by the converter because the motor is still pulling like a bastard but its not showing at the tires. It did 525whp and 738ftlbs. Also no sure if this matters but the dyno was set off of wheel speed because the amp clamp was broken.
My tuner says its a whole new animal it just doesnt show on the dyno sheet as far as hp.
This was at an average of 11.5 at 16 degrees at 15psi.

i woudnt expect this to be the case, but any time around that type of system i would keep an eye on your exhaust pressure entering the turbo.
i assume it is maintaining stable boost while the power is 'not showing up'
when i had that kit i was getting huge tq spikes and making no power because it was making no boost. i had a 63mm turbo then tho

The boost is staying steady at 15psi. He said its pulling no problem to 7k,the motor is screaming, afr is solid, iat solid. I guess its just not showing to the wheels. Doesnt make a lot of sense. I guess the track will be the test.

Please supply more info about these hybrid turbos you guys are working up that you mentioned a couple posts ago. When this thing goes south or when I decide to spend some cheese and make huge power I'll be interested in something similar.

Yeah his setup is the same thing I guess except for a little smaller displacement. It's not the most reliable setup as far as the motor, but he wanted to see what he could push on the dyno. On street driving I'm sure it will be turned down a bit...lol

How the heck are those heads staying down? I've heard not even 2 bar is about the max for a stock casting head. Guess time will tell with that kinda power.

Log your car on the 2-3 shift to see how much of a drop in RPMs you are getting. If it's dropping less than 600 rpms the converter is too loose or the the trans is slipping.

Im picking it up tonight. The tuner took it out and said its insane compared to the last turbo (pte67mm). Ill be at the track next week to see what this thing can run.
I did a 10.8@122 with the pte67.

I just picked the car up. This thing is a beast. I hit it at 60mph in 3rd and it actually broke the tires loose.
My only issue is that right at about 5900rpm in 3rd at 100mph it sounds like its breaking up alittle. Its not smooth any more. I wonder if its a minor ignition mis, probably a wire?
