Default Cam Recommendation

Lunati Pro mod rods, JE pistons, Eagle Crank 408 with #317 heads flowing 321CFM @ .650, 317 @ .600. PRC dual springs, polished chambers, etc. Front mount turbo (intercooled of course) in my 67 bird. Will want to keep an "muscle car" sounding idle if possible, but realize I probably should keep the LSA above 112 when running a turbo. Any recommendations as far as cam that will work with my setup? Will be running roughly 15psi, and want SOME drivability. Keep in mind this is not a race-only car. Thanks in advance!

Easy, call up a reputable shop and get one spec'd. I spent allot of time on this and had one in mind for myself than comp spec'd one for me and ended up being fairly close to what I was thinking. Don't get sucked into the bigger is better whatever happens though!

I've had excellent luck with Thunder Racing, but have yet to call and have them help me with something like that. Any experiences? Appreciate the response Websy.

Wanted something in the 250/240 range, reverse split would be awesome too.

Well Pat G know's his **** with cams so Thunder Racing would be ideal and Ninetres will love me for this one since you are thinking a reverse split call Cammotion as that's what they reccommend but I say a straight split myself. Either way it will make a **** load of power!

I do alot of turbo cams,i can tell you this a cam in the 250's will drive like junk on the street, something in the high to mid 230's on a 116 is where you need to be.Sounding good and working well dont usually go together with a turbo setup on the street

With something in the 230's, on a 116, the idle will be SLIGHTLY lopey, note quite "choppy" right? Have never heard something almost 240º @ .050 computer controlled on a 116.

That was with a cut-out open, and about 4' of 4" piping. My car is factory quiet with the cut-out closed. Here is a pretty good shot of my cut-out location and DP. Once closed, the pipe necks down to 3" and has a long bullet muffler, feeding a GIANT magnaflow.

I always tell that nerd to keep his ugly mug off of my videos but he always finds a way to stick his nose in them.

Yes I have (275/40/17s on chrome ZR1s).....it kinda blows. Took some modification to get it to fit right and eliminate bump steer. I would have kept my PS if I could turn back the clock......but I'm not sure if my current piping configuration would allow for it. PA racing kit BTW. The rack also rubs the innner wall of my ZR1s if I turn real hard one direction.....or hit a bump while turning real far.

I think that cam would work great though except I like the staright splits with turbo's but you already know that, LOL

How about the 236/236 that comp grinds as the large cube turbo grind and allot of sponsors on here carry and reccommend as not going any higher. Speed Inc I know for one.
