i would think they would both make about same amount of power cuz you will be limiting them by the injector size

i agree they might make around the same. i would probablly say go with the t88 because from what im hearing turbos are more effecient in the long run and thats the main reason i got switched over from an f1r to a 94mm

They would probably be about the same really. Zero fabrication on the blower install, less underhood heat and no farting around on the starting line trying to build boost would be the advantage of the blower. I might be a little worried about backpressure with a 408 and T4 PT88 but it would certainly work. But anything over the 1000fwhp level on an F-body I would probably do a turbo, unlike a mustang where you can buy a F2/F3 setup that bolts on you have to make something for a bigger blower then worry about belts.

Depends on what you are trying to do, IMO the blower is way easier to get down the track then a turbo, messing around on the street it doesnt matter really I guess.

kp is correct on some of the issues with the larger Prochargers. The factory bracket seems to shake apart above 800hp. Right now we are working with Procharger on getting a bracket setup for our F1R and above head units. Believe me, Procharger does want to make a bracket kit for the larger blowers on the LSx.

You just don't see that many blower LSx cars, that is why we went that direction. With everything, there has to be R&D completed before a finalized project.

Also looking over kp's vids helped make that decision

I'm surprised they havent done it already, people are sticking LS motors in everything these days and its a shame they dont make anything for the bigger blowers for one of these.

I'll probably end up going turbo, I want to at least get in the mid 5s in the 1/8 and I dont think anything smaller than an F1R is going to get me there at 3400lbs. I was going to try an F1R on this steel bracket/SDCE but I took some underhood videos during some passes and its amazing hoe much that 1" steel bracket moves around at 7200rpm in high gear. How the belt stays on there I have no idea so I kinda gave up on trying and F1R.

But I have zero complaints about this setup thats for sure, why more people dont do something similar I have no idea. Guess its just cool to have a turbo these days

T4 88mm unit is a bit small for a 408. I would swap to the T6 version of the PT88, or just go with a S88.

kp: Most likely we will not end up with the traditional f-body mounting due to the mounting points. We are looking to make something out of a few different brackets. I like the placement of the GTO bracket, similar to the Ford setups that have bolt-on F+ head unit kits.

Hopefully I'll see whats up by the end of the week, just waiting for the brackets. I'll let you guys know what we find.
