Turbo to small?
Ok so i orderd a hp performance stage 1 turbo kit for my 99 WS6 about a month and a half ago. But i have been thinking the turbo seems kinda small. The turbo is 60mm with .96 A/R, what do you guys think? Should i sell this turbo and get a bigger one? What do you think of the turbonetics 850 gtk? Or what sizes can you suggest?
Thanks for any input!

I have an excel file that will calculate your pressure ratio and corrected flow assuming 100% volumetric efficiency so that you can plot on a compressor map and find the turbo that will fit right for you. pm me your email address and I'll send it to you.

The backpressure on that kit will be through the roof!
With 346 ci. go with at least a Precision 62mm with a decent exhaust housing. HP's kit uses 2.5" charge pipes and a 3" downpipe. If it were my car, a 67 HPS series turbo would be a incredibly fast spool and make more power than the Turbonetics unit while saving space.
67mm Precision with a .68/.81 exhaust housing, "S" Cover (compressor) - 4" inlet 2.5" discharge.
Stay away from the off the shelf Garrett turbos HP uses.
Oh yeah, be prepared to wait on HP. The are the slowest most procrastinating people on the planet. Yes, many personal experiences...

I think that turbo will be fine for your car with a stock motor and all. It will spool quick and be fun to drive. That's how I like my street setups. The compressor is a little on the small side, but your back pressure won't be bad with that .96 A/R housing. Give it a try, you can always upgrade later.
