You can hear what the vortech race bpv vented to atmosphere sounds like in this vid, it comes and goes because of the big cam and it doesn't idle very smooth but you get the idea.

By the way, that's with true duals dumped with no cats or mufflers so it's pretty loud to be able to hear it over the exhaust like that.

So I just got off the phone with ATI and tech support stated that the whistle that you hear is not the head unit, but the bypass valve. He said that if I wanted a loud whistle, then I need a race bypass valve. Also, that he can make a P1 loud of a F1 quiet, that it's all in the bypass valve.

So...I have ordered their race bypass valve opened to the atmosphere with a steel flange.

This is a video of my car at first start up with a D1SC and a race bypass valve.. My car screams like a banshee even when cruising at 2k - 3k RPMS.

http://media.putfile.com/Procharger-Start-up

That should give you an idea of what your car will sound like if vented to the atmosphere.

Thats actually a vortech mondo by-pass not race, they are different. The mondo is bigger and louder than the vortech race by-pass but I believe the ati race by-pass is even louder

Im pretty sure that is inncorrect, i have not heard a quiet f1 at all. I guess the guy rating them loud vs quiet has bad ears lol. The noise sounds like it is from the gears rattling back and forth on one another. There is going to be a whistle from the impeller, but not a rattle/loudness like alot of people report.

Exotic Performance Plus, no thank you! Please shoot me a PM with a tracking number when it becomes available. Thanks!

Jake@EPP, I can't argue that because I've never heard a F1, nor have I personally tried to make one quiet. At any rate, he stated that it was all in the bypass valve, so hopefully this race valve gives me the sound I'm looking for.

The race valve makes everything louder lol, if you put it down low it will move all dirt and debris on the ground when you drive over it.

i thought it was the belt that made the whistle, the bov makes more of a whoosh sound, lol
nothing sounded better than my old 871 supercharger, it was all belt
my 8 rib makes some whistle, but goes away, at least from inside the car, not sure about outside
when i had my old 871, a neighbor used to tell me in the summer he could hear me a block away coming, he loved the sound, lol

The only time loud sounds cool, is if you can back it up

Good call on the bypass, the one that comes in the kit is a huge POS.

Quick Reply: D1SC head unit not as loud as I was hoping for.
