Is everyone still having good luck with there boost controlled superchargers. I'm going to try this with my D1SC as soon as I get my Wastegate and boost controller.

NLR, do you have any diagrams showing how to put a ams1000 on a set up like this?

I was thinking about something like this as a limiter for the street. I burn the tires off in third with just 7lbs. Now i'm upping it to 12psi. I am definitely gonna do something like this. Just to control low speed boost. Kinda like traction control.

I have got a 2# spring in my gate, and the Ams will make it 20# with the co2.

I'm trying to make a boost limiter launch controller. Something like zero boost for first and second and like 5lbs for third.

that is my Idea also. I am just now finishing up my set up so I can't say if it is going to work or not.

Any up dates from anyone? This thread has gotten my attention.

Is it possible to set high boost for 12 and low boost for 8 or under. If so can someone point me in the right direction of parts to look for buying.

You would need a external waste gate with some sort of boost controller. Weld the waste gate to your charge pipe.
Then hook-up the boost controller to the waste gate. Make sure the waste gate spring is half of the low boost you want to run. So you would get an 4psi spring for low boost (8psi) and have your high boost set for what ever the blower makes.

have not turned on the boost controller but the waste gate is working fine for setting max boost. 5# spring gave me 4psi. and the 10# spring is doing 9psi. It is allowing me to step to a set boost to do the tuning.

Back in the front of this thread there was talk of trashing the head unit from using the wastgate anyone having any trouble yet? I like the idea but would hate to take out my head unit I want to give this a try but would like some opinions from guys who are runing this set up any fears of damaging the blower?

What size / brand gate works best? What boost controler?

I am running a tial 44mm gate and ams1000 boost controller. I have read where some are having head unit issues, I am willing to trash my head unit to find out for myself.

So on reading this, im still not understanding the Boost pressure being twice as high as the pressure rating on the wastegate?
If you wanted to get down to 5-6 psi boost while being pullied for 9psi, what would be required?

Outlawdart seem to not have to use a lower wastegate spring to reach his desired boost level.

This has me thinking. Right now I have a 4" pulley on my F1A for a desired 12-15lbs of boost (have not started motor yet). I would like to pulley down to ??? to get 18-20lbs and throw in a wastegate for the street. But with so much instant torque wouldn't you just smoke the tires that much sooner? Anyway I'm definitely considering throwing this mod into the mix.

I wanted to something like that with my camaro, more of a safty switch , if my meth system was to fail the BOV's , (i run 2 of them) would not get boost to them and stay open so no boost can build, I bought Alky controls new methanol press/flow gauge and i think i can hook up a solenoid inbetween the gauge and the BOV's vacume line,

Not sure if it will work but ill give it a shot
