No problems at all. Been on the car almost a year now. On low boost, it feels the same as high boost down low, then it just flat lines at 14psi but the car keeps pulling.. High boost and the waste gate never opens. Feels like its not even there..

Id like to see some IAT data logs on low and high boost, in theory they should be about the same.

Id also like to figure a efficiency % on low vs high boost even though the impeller is at the same speed.

Someone needs to build a dang CVT transmission for these blowers lol.

I really don't care about efficiency on low boost or IAT's. Low boost is just for pissing around on the street. High boost is for racing...

now that would be good! PD blower style torque but with missive top end power. sounds good to me!

I remember questioning this when I first started my D1SC install long ago....

After being squashed by all the folks here I never proceeded with it.... wish I would have. I alway had a feeling that a wastegate on a SC car would work.

I'd love to see what the dyno sheets look like for the power band on your low boost setting. That's got to be a pretty kick *** setup. Wonder why the 6.5lbs spring gives you 13 to 14 psi instead of opening at 6.5. Is it just a difference in where it is seeing the boost from?

That is pretty sweet that it works for you. Wonder what the difference in peek power would be if you pullied down to only run 14 psi of boost at max rpm vs using the waste gate to release the excess pressure.

If you pullied it to 14psi at max rpm you'de lose power everywhere in the power band.. I would image it would feel like someone took your engine and lopped 2 cylinders off it.

I know you'd lose TONS of power under the curve, but the peak figure... I'm curious what the losses are up top from spinning the blower that much faster. If you're not losing much to turning the blower faster this would definitely be a great way of building the bottom end of the powerband while keeping the motor from blowing up at the top end.

I will have a final dyno of both boost settings very soon..Just waiting on a semi-cool day..

The reason for this is that on a turbo system at say 5psi of boost their is approx. double, 10psi of back pressure in the exhaust manifold. And that is used to help push open the waste gate...So thats the difference..exhaust pressure vs intake pressure..

It is done by PE once its out of range. Same concept when pegging the MAF. It goes to fuel x rpm.

it actually reads to 2.5 bar (18psi) and fueling above that is done as stated above... .

Yeah I had talked about putting one on a friends car and just didn't ever buy the parts to play with it etc... I never saw any articles, but I knew it could be done. Even the factory ATI bypass valve bleeds off presure as a mater of fact they never 100% seal that is why they aren't the greatest for big power cars etc...
